are the cent united, glenunga scores correct because i thought it was a 1 point win.. i was there at the end, devastating lose for Cent United.. inaccurate kicking costing them the win.. good comeback after glenunga was 6 goal to 1 lead at the first

Another loss for Central United today!!! I remember so vividly 2 months ago several senior players out there bragging about having the premiership sewn up. I corrected them and was looked at like I didnt know anything... Alla!!!!

Great game yesterday down at Mawson Lakes Hotel Oval...was an arm wrestle all day with the lead chopping & changing more than I could count, I think the biggest lead for the game wouldn't have got past 2 goals for either side. We were up by 11 points half way through the last only to see Clayton Whenan (great game) single handedly try to take it away from us by booting 2 goals to put Raggies in front by a point, we were lucky enough to score a major with a minute to go & hold on...game played in good spirits & very good spectacle to watch.

Surely your still looking at securing Bernie Bobridge from CU cos he is sooooo much better then your entire midfield according to him...

I think maybe Mr M might wanna leave Greenacres after today anyway after playing almost an entire game in the backlines today and taking 2 quarters to get a kick and finishing with 2 kicks, 6 handballs haha

Pretty sure he said he left CU coz he was played in the backlines and not forward lines so WTF?!

As for Bernie, well you should hear the two boys argue, Mr M has turned into Chris Judd since leaving CU and joining Greenacres..

and just quietly Bobridge was at Ingle Farm club last night until 2am and spent plenty of money, forms have been signed but needs to pay fees at CU to be cleared, dont think he will leave CU though, his missus is hell bent on him seeing out the season because she believes he is letting down his side and club by leaving now.

Maybe Mr M will go to Ingle Farm now so he can play forward lines, 2 coaches now have got it wrong and played him in the backlines. At least niven will promise him to play forward lines in the "a" grade with his mates bobridge and uren!

Maybe could have spent some of that money to pay his subs, or maybe if he's spending his money over the bar at IF then Chris will pay it to get him cleared.......Ha Ha Ha Ha, crack myself up sometimes

4/5 for me with CU just missing out on getting me 5 winners.

It was an anticipated match at Mawson Lakes Hotel Oval, with the home side taking on their 2009 nemesis Athelstone. A lot of players consider it a special time to play on the ANZAC Day weekend, and as a tribute, a minutes silence was held before the first bounce.

The Saints welcomed back co-captain Travis Smits for the important occasion and he was quick to influence the contest converting a goal after pulling in a strong grab. Premier midfielders Lachlan Kennett and Rob O'Gorman made a strong start feeding the ball to their 'Tall Targets' Mark Chilvers and Smits. Not to be outdone Athelstone through the efforts of sharp shooting small forward Clayton Whenan putting his side back into the contest with some early goals. With things all square at half time, it looked like the two finalists of 2009 were going to play out a close encounter. The 3rd quater however was clearly the Saints best, with Adam Molloy and Kaleb Tymco holding sway in defence, the home side peppered the goals. Unfortunately for the Saints inacurate kicking kept the contest open and when Whenan goaled late in the 3rd term the visitors were only a goal down at the last break. Myles Cooper in Ruck for the Saints set the tone for his teamates at the beginning of the last quater with his intensity at the footy and opposition ball carriers. Again the Saints continually brought the ball into their forward 50, but were unable to penetrate. Athelstone turned to experienced campaigner Adam Norsworthy to change the momentum and with his creativity in the midfield, the Raggies had somehow conjured a 1 point lead with only minutes remaining. With the game in the balance, an errant kick out of bounds, with a subsequent 25 metre penalty, resulted in Saints forward Damien Montfrooy taking a mark on an acute angle 40 metres from goal. With the Bookies having Montfrooy at a $1.10 'Not' to kick the goal, he made the doubters eat humble pie by putting the pressure kick straight through the middle of the goals. With only seconds remaining, the Saints held on for a hard fought 5 point win. Coach Geoff Riddle was ecstatic with the win, against the only side he has coached against without tasting success since taking on the 'A' grade position last season. Mark Chilvers won the Saints annual 'ANZAC Day' Medal for his aerial dominance and will be a key player when Mawson Lakes head up to Angle Vale next week. The Raggies were best served by Norsworthy, Whenan with his six goals and Luck Harrington who restricted the dangerous Ivan Novosel to two majors. While Athelstone has begun the season with a 1 win, 2 loss start, they have showed they will again be thereabouts at the seasons end.
