As a league official there to watch his son(soft player big mouth) he should not go onto the field. How would the pressure be on the umps to go along with what he said. We were already copping a rough deal that day.

Gino should listen to me because I am smarter than him.

I am with you on this one TBS, he has been doing it for years. Integrity is so important, whether actual or perceived.

Imagine Andrew Demetriou or Leigh Whicker doing that. It would never happen. GC has done this in the past and irrespective of whether this incident is, as portrayed, he has brought the position that he holds into disrespect.

Gepps beat Walkies by 7 pts. A few crucial errors cost the cats some goals during the game.

C'mon people where is the backlash. Districts got hounded last year for recruiting hard and finishing 3rd, Serve it up to these pretenders, premiership favourites they say, stray Cats at best.

That's the word down at DP World tonight.

Pardon my ignorance. Does Gepps have bad drainidge?? Always been a tidy surface in my years, or was it at WFC. Both grounds are alright from my experience. Mid winter there are some shockers around but neither of those two would be in the worst ten.

Played there for 4 years in the 90s and it was OK. But that's a long time ago. Moved house down the road and it looked great 6-7 weeks when I walked the pooch but a weeks a long time in footy and saw Park 9 today and was taken back by the chop up. So it's shocking then I assume as many grounds are

Gepps had a lot of surface water when we played there. Walkies just doesn't have any grass left on it. I don't think water pools there like GX or Park 9.

Agree that Park 9 could arguably be the worst....large parts of the oval was "under" water Saturday.....
Can recall in 1999 mud all but coming into the shoes when walking on GX oval before a match during the rainy season and in 2002 Falcon Park after a deluge had "ponds" suddenly appear on game day. Stand to be corrected that may have even been a D4 and D4R prelim final that day.

Pretty great performance by Molitor on the weekend. 4 goals from the ruck in conditions not suited to him. Absolute gun.

Crucial errors cost both sides pal! Time to talk to your council about some decent drainage, that would help.

The council are keen to do up the oval and make a "Sporting Hub" by moving the YMCA from down the road to behind the club. Not holding my breath that this will happen though.

It doesn't help that we have sports on the oval every day throughout winter (soccer, footy junior and seniors) and it doesn't get much of a rest. And when the rains come the oval turns into a mud pit. But sometimes in footy you have to play on muddy grounds

We know your pain mate, we only have the one deck for 16 odd junior sides, 5 mens senior sides and 2 womens sides. Doesnt matter what condition its in at the start of the season, with that amount of traffic week in and week out, it turns into a bog pretty quickly! A second oval is supposedly on the cards but i am not holding my breath.. just have to put up with the mud now, not all bad, heard its really good for the skin.

rained rather heavy when you played GX, it was not going to drain away in a hurry.
conditions made it a great , tough slog and well played by both sides

I drove past tonight and didn't think the ground looked too bad all things considered. A lot better than Park 9 and Modbury.

Portland beat Walkies 21.19 to 9.11. It was a lot closer at half time but Portland really kicked away in the second half.
Anyone got a score from the Modbury v Kilburn game?
