Out of curiosity how many did clubs have on the bench in the A Grade?
Lonsdale went with 25 in the A grade and we went with 21. Apparently an email was sent out last night about it, the night before round 1 and the night after selection lol super organisation if true!

Weird rule. Your 4 best B Graders sitting on the pine twiddling their thumbs in the A Grade.
Some new rules to get used to. The 25 metres instead of 50. No hangers or attempted hangers. SFL under 10's sling tackle rules.
Good hit out though. Can't remember the last time our A's and B's won on the same day.

I'm told it took Brighton and Morphies half a season to get use to the umpiring in Amateurs. Less physically and hot on the whistle.

Seems an odd call to me. The strong get stronger.

In my experience the umpires interpretation does relax as the season goes on.

Yes, needs to at least get your mits to the footy[/quote
Seen 4 pushes paid today all with both hands on the ball, then dropped it. One went through the hands bounced of his chest. One clean mark, knees but no hands in the back. Thought that was over 35 rules. The umpy said unrealistic attempt when the bloke got 2 hands on the ball and spilt it.
Besides that impressed with the umpires compared to what we have been getting in recent years. Didn't miss a thing. CUFC had a good crowd considering the travel.

Love the call on Trev hahaha.

It's because C/D grades are in our comp, who have been able to field 7 on the bench for a while now. Thus it is extended to all teams competing.
TBH, it's probably not much fun for coaches juggling rotations, but it allowed us give a few more a game this week.
