they're homo's for knocking back triple headers...

Knocked us back too...we have had 4 teams agree to have them so far - Fitzroy, Lutheran, Haven and Pooraka. Unley are still deciding. The rest arent interested.

How did Portland go against Blackfriars in both A's and B's? Haven't heard much on the portland trial games

B grade was a good game, Portland won by under a goal.

Won the A grade by 120 points, game was tight early. 2nd and last quarters were the blow-outs.

Will Dylan Frank be playing for Portland again this year along with Bird, couple of former Port players still young lads too I'd say?

Still waiting for Dylan's clearance to be signed off - he has been verbally cleared, but he should be playing. Bird playing too. Both around the 21 year old mark.

Cryptic ? Me ? Never....

Honestly, i think we will be ok. Our depth has improved, and we have added some good players to our group. Pre-season went well, but you never know how good you are until the season starts. My honest opinion is that we still might be a bit behind the top 2-3. I would hope that we could finish top 5 though.

You are playing it down a little bit Felch, from what i saw on the weekend Portland will be top 3. If your strongest side was played for 4 qtrs you would have spanked Blackfriars by 30 goals.... Some good signs, two big targets at FF in Thornton and the rejuvenated Wayne Cocks, plus Shaun Hughes at CHF running around. Bird, Laslett and Frank in the middle... Not since 2000 has there been a line up like this at Portland!!

There were good signs, i agree. But we were playing suspect opposition - i dont mean that as an insult to Blackfriars either, they have lost players from last year, and were a D7 club 2 years ago. The result was as it should be. I gave my honest opinion about where we are at. I hope i have under-stated it, and we are top 3. Time will tell.

What about Haven, Ouzo ?

FC we both know that no team Portland put on the park will be as good as the 2000 premiership side, but they were pretty good on the weekend and look to be the strongest they have been in 3 years.

Appreciate the honesty Felch, you do like to play it down from time to time. Honestly Haven have looked good in the trials but two of those were against some very ordinary opposition. Will be top 5 im certain but where in the top 5 is hard to say with so many changes to our team. probably 10 out and 10 in, so it is hard to gauge. If everything gels and the team is consistent we will have agood year but from past experience that is far from certain.

Have been misinformed about Pooraka apparently. Spoke to a guy in the know out there and he says Coles and Howe are both staying on, and they picked up a couple of ex-juniors and a couple from Torrens Valley. Feeling pretty confident.
