I guess until the player is signed, he is never on board, but i agree verbally commiting and then changing clubs isnt great.
He had just won a premiership at Portland, would probably have been made captain, interesting to see him make the move.

From what I've heard Coach initially was not happy which completely understandable, losing players as you go up is not what you want especially a senior player like heff, however there since has been another meeting and from what I have been told, things were fine. Fisty perhaps its attitudes like yours that has driven him away, at the end of the day its footy, his decision should not affect peoples opinions of the bloke.

Excuse me for interrupting.....
but I would think that the way a bloke conducts himself at any time in a public place should be a pretty good indicator as to what sort of bloke he is and the opinions that we then form on him ??
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

I think thats a little naive to think the way people act on the footy field and at a footy club doesnt impact on peoples opinion of a bloke.
I think this whole issue has been compounded by the amount of players moving interstate, and not playing at Portland next year. As you would be aware going up a grade, you want to hold onto all players you have a pick up a few.

You are mis understanding what I have said, I am not saying how you act in regards to off and on field is not an indicator of the type of person you are what I am saying is that you shouldnt judge ones integrity on his decision to leave the club. Fisty the reason you know about is not the only reason why he is leaving because he had signed at Rams before he found that out, but I do agree you probably shouldnt bring it up on this forum as it wouldnt probably ruin your club for good.
