i wanna know how clubs like kenilworth, and my club clg, get the money to supposedly spend up big. i doubt kenilworth would be spending more then 600 a week on players which is about 10 grand a year, chicken feed!

Have about 15-20% of the playing group that didn't even go to school there either. A tight group that plays for the jersy, each other and the coach aren't that rare if our whole club does it.

The enjoyment of each others company at training and in games, an excellent backing from the comittee and good social times makes me and i'm sure the rest of the lads inspired enough to play for the club.

But by all means keep going lads it's quite funny all this banter about cash and other clubs. Lets see how those big players on big bucks back it up just like greenacres... nnnnnntttt. Good premiership they didn't win

What so first you dont play payers then you have private sponsers and now its all about the love again. Christ Scotty - some of your players have different ideas about match payments. Maybe you should ask a couple of them.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

The aim from Greenacres was to get to a higher division which we did..so you measure sucess your way and we will play in a higher division...simple really ;)

I'd say Blackfriars would be quite happy with their 2 premierships in 3 years...

Nah i agree, i wish i was at a club like greenachres were all the blokes you play with care more about themselves, then the team and the club they play for.... Just wondering after the game do you all stand around and tell yourselfs how good you are while you admire the view of Yatler prision in North Adelaides clubrooms??????? Hahaha!!!
Agree with the mateship call, my opinion its much more satisfying winning games of footy with a bunch of guys who are there for the CLUB and not the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$....

Another topic please, what are the 2 sides like coming up I'm always interested on how the sides go...

plugger, ask jim smith how much he got paid this year, and the mates hes bringing out this year wont play for love..your so good at dishing it out and acting high and mighty and "we dont pay anyone"..its already been confirmed on here by posters from plympton that "certain" players get paid at plympton by "special" supporters so how about stfu eh?

people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones..oh the irony is so sweet

in defence of turk..greenacres was told by NAFC to get to div 1 asap and they will get all the support they need if they do it..it didnt mention flags..just get to div 1 asap..they failed by 2 minutes to win a flag..whilst plympton spend another year in division 5, they get to go up..

have a nice day all :D

Lightning sometimes you amaze me with your stupidity. For the record I dont know and I was referring to Div 5 up. If its not match payments could be best player payments.

Its a sign of the times we are all putting our hands out for the green

Hope Valley will be looking to be competitive in Div 5 and consolidate ourselves in the new division. Finals always has to be the goal (or what's the point of even playing) and not getting relegated is the other, but we won't really know how we'll go till probably Round 9 when we've played everyone. We've had some new faces out before christmas and expect a few more when we recommence on Jan 13th. We have one definite out (Neil Partridge - Hectorville) who needs a knee reco and wouldn't have played for us in 2009 anyway. He is the only confirmed out at this stage, unless our friends from the GF come clean on another. Could finish from 5th-8th

WOS had a great side this year and deserved to be premiers. They have some good runners in Warburton, Marshall, big rucks in O'hara and Dyda and quality forwards such as Allen and Conway (if he plays in 2009). They will definitely be competitive in Div 5 and will look to win a lot of their games at home. A couple of recruits would top them up nicely and strengthen their depth, which is challenged when injuries come along (thinking of 2007). I'd expect them to finish anywhere from 4th-7th.

I hope no one gets on here and rants and raves about us (HV) or WOS thinking it's going to be easy. This is purely my opinion based on what I saw of these two sides in 2008. I can't take into account what the other Div 5 sides will be like, because I haven't seen them play. I can take some confidence out of Blackfriars and GG performance in 08 after their promotion, having played both those sides the year before. If WOS and HV can perform as well as what they did, both sides (at a minimum)should be able to remain in Div 5 for another season. End rant

well said
not knowing to much about div 5, it think something that would set sides apart from others would be depth
if you have that, you should at least consolidate your spot in div 5 for the following season where you can contiue to build on previous years!!
