Surely its only a matter of time.
Just have SPOS on the back of guernseys as Houghten have done with BPOS.
Very much on the cards Browny but we wanted to establish ourselves down there first and then this will be on the agenda for sure 1 or 2 years down the track...At the moment the oval is a year by year thing so as soon as we get confirmation we'll be there for the long haul (looking very likely) I can't see any reason to keep the name.
I think you guys would be very wise to change your name to Mawson Lakes over the next few years. Be one of the first sporting clubs to establish them selves in the suburb (could be wrong about that). Would give the club a real sense of belonging in the area. I believe that Nth Pines should look at changing there Football team name to Parafield Gardens Football Club. People just dont associate Nth Pines with any area.
Yeah BS, any ideas why they were called Nth Pines?
How is the oval looking? I remember there being plenty of land mines with alot of sand, bit like playing in Afghanistan!!

No idea why the club was called Nth Pines. The school next to the club is called the Pines Primary School and I am pretty sure that it was around first. The club did start as a juniors club (I think) that could be why? The shops acroos the road are called the Pines Shops. Who knows but unless the council starts calling the area The Pines I think a name change would be more than beneficial.
As for the oval it is looking nice and green. With all the bore water that gets pumped onto it you would hope so. Even the cricket pitch was under water at one end last night. The oval is still un-even. Does not seem to matter how much the council tries to level it with top soil (reason why it is so sandy) it always comes up with land mines. I do think it is gradually getting better though. The council has relayed some fresh grass in the goals squares.
maybe its was cos the area was called the Pines estate at the time and i think it is still known as the pines estate when it was built
