What happened to the Seaton discussion about what is going on at Big Al's Car Park

Reading with interest about Hodges quitting. Think that a few people were very uncharitable to Hodges, as they were not privy to why he resigned. Was a little disgusted when reading about some people just using the subject as a way of upsetting the Seaton Apple Cart in 2008.

I am sure that Big Al will find a good replacement as he is one of the great football administrators and Seaton are very well off financially. I have been involved with club for a long time and was a very upset about reading about the un truths being posted by ill informed people. Only being a B Grade player at the club, I was standing at the Bar, when Scott asked everyone to show their committmnet for Season 2008.

The only A Grade Footballer not to get up and take the pre-season form was Johnno Rex, who is going to Europe to concentrate on his Baseball career and this was well known to all of us at the club long before Presentation Night. The other player not to get up was the great Kouta who has been with us for many years. He also let everyone know way before seasons end that he was retiring and going to live in North Queensland with his partner and children.

That rumour was a pure joke that Scott resigned over that. Please let Scott just have a little peace at this moment.

To clear all rumours, I would just like to say that we were all glad he came back to the club this year and did a fantastic job with a bunch of players who we all guessed would only finish 3rd or 4th. Lets get over the rumours of Presentation night as they are just not true. The reason nobody has opened their mouths at Seaton is a great trait by our club, in not releasing why Scotty resigned. We all know the reason, but are not prepared to tell everyone else. Pretty simple really - that is Scotts decision in advising people he knows over time. Those close to him all know the reasons and he being the great player and coach that he is and has been - deserves the opportunity to tell those at his discretion.

It certainly does not need fools and buffoons to go around making up rumours and scathing attacks behind a Username.

The Seaton Football Club will long be a major force in Amateur Football and Scott Hodges after he recovers will return bigger
and better than ever and again be a champion coach that he has been in the past and will be again.

About time someone posted something worth reading other than the idiots who chose to get on here and simply attempt to run the club and its future down.

The reason for the thread being lost would be due to a couple of clowns who chose to hide strictly behind their forum alias in order to make personal attacks on people and clubs, which in the main really says a lot about their character, manhood and ability back up their statements with real life accounts, these are same type of people who do little to promote the game of Australian Rules.

Again great post, personally I'm hoping the Ramblers have a massive year avoiding relegation. It will be a huge task for any coach looking to fill the void left by Scott Hodges.

As long as 99% of people don't know the truth, they will speculate. Until someone posts Hodges' real reasons for resigning there will be posts made that are not true. It's a fact of life, unfortunately.

Mate he wasn't the one making all the speculation. And whether you like it or not, it's gonna happen. That's the nature of this place, especially with a high-profile person like Hodges. Not saying I agree with it either way, but do you think people are gonna stop speculating on where Ben Cousins is at the moment just because someone might want them to? It's not gonna happen mate.

With that being said, obviously Hodges had his reasons and it was good of him to tell Seaton now rather than January. Have you guys got a shortlist yet kinsmanclan?

If it was Joe Bloggs from wherever Im sure this issue would not have blown out like it has. What business is it of anyone else's apart from Hodgy and his family why he has resigned. SMAC people from seaton have come on here and stated that the reason why he has resigned is due to personal reasons and not anything footy related why cant this be accepted and moved on. People are gonna speculate no matter what but i fail to believe that the actual reason should be disclosed on a public forum for everyone to see. I think we should respect the guys decision give him the privacy he needs and move on.

I was pointing out that by posting everything except the actual reason will provoke more rumour and innuendo. The only way to stop it is to post the truth.

A coach that players already or will respect is great for any footy club in any grade, as long as you have the cattle, the club is moving up a grade so i think along with finding a respected coach, he must bring some personel to the party
