Unless things have changed for the worse. I know they nominated for Div 7 and Div 7 Reserves. You may have mixed your 'Flinders' teams up as Flinders Park have nominated for a team to play in Div 9S.

Flinders Uni are definantly going to be in Div 9 South.
I am training out at Morphy Park under Ross Brokensha. Ross coached Flinders last year and since leaving the club a lot of players have followed him to Morphy Park to play for the Roos.

Go the Roos

Flinders Uni are going to Div 8 with only 1 side. Edwardstown are taking their spot in Div 7.

It doesn't make sense because which ever team plays their A grade the B's will have a bye.
Should have just put them in Div 9 Sth if they only have 1 team.

To put the record straight!!

FUFC have nominated to play in Div 9S for 2006. This is due to a number of reasons:
- Players leaving and have gone to other clubs (particularly country kids who have now finsihed studies and have moved back);
- Players who have left to go travelling to go overseas;
- Players who have just lost interest (afterall uni students are LAZY!!)

From what i understand ONLY 1 player has left FUFC to play at Morhpy Parks (I guess the lure of money is too much for some!!!) Others have left for the reasons explained above!!

To continue to be competitive FUFC will fill only 1 strong A grade side for this season, which will be more than competitive.

Go Crabs - I think you will find that there is about 10 boys that have left Flinders that have come to our Morphy. I am training at Morphy and know this for a fact. Also they have not left for money, they obviously enjoy the coaches coaching style and want to play for him.

by dont think do
I take it that Div 8 is going to revert back to a t team div, eg div 8 and div 8 res otherwise teams like flinders uni who are going from div 7 will find it very hard.

Having played a few games in Div 8 last year and watched a coulp of Div 5 games at the end of the year, div 8 last year was a better standard than div 5. Not saying this as a result of my perfomances but that of other teams.

Example Broadview, Rostrevor, Gaza etc very strong clubs with fringe Div 1 res players in thier div 8 C grade.

Crabs are doing well i suppose with one team, any plans to get a B grade side up for next year so that you can move up the grades or arent there enough numbers for 2 teams?

I've had a very short playing career with the Crabs. One game to be exact ;)

Also, speaking of Flinders teams, their cricket club's abbreviation always cracks me up. FUCC. Very apt for a uni team.

Most people would prefer a short playing career with the crabs. The constant itching would get very annoying on game day :lol:
