If you dont, who will????

Postby BurraBoys » Mon Mar 31, 2008 5:53 pm

If your unwiling to really talk up your own club (or a particular player from your club) for the fear of it coming to bite you on the ass later in the year, who will???

This thread is the oppurtunity to talk up any club or players other than your own.

Obviously hard to pick at this stage of the year, but from the whispers about trial game performances and any recruits that may have joined, who do you think is really primed for a bog year?

Be interesting to follow this throughout the year and have a laugh at our own bandwagon jumping as well.

Personally, im getting on the Modbury band wagon. I think they are looking really good, with the ins they have had. Noodles is a big loss, but ive just got a feeling about them this year.

ok then here goes
uni to win flags in div 2, 2res, 7, 7res, c1, c2, c4 with c5 (the scum) to come bottom thus making the club doubly happy.
association medals to be won in div 2, 2 res, 7res and c1.
that'd make it a good year. :)

i thought this was the thread for outlandish statements. :)

seriously, uni to challenge for 2 (along with modbury, shoc, smosh & pnu), 2 res, 7 res, c1, c4. all teams to be better than last year due to an influx of players as the club got off its collective rs and went back to its traditional recruiting ground of Orientation week at uni. i'd expect only 1-3 of the (admittedly rather outplayed convincingly) 2007 div 6 c grade to play div 7 with the rest to filter downwards.

I wouldnt be so sure of uni having div 7 reservers sewn up. Wes will be challanged for the medal this season.

playing 7 res with the same group that he's been playing with for the last 6-7 years. only plays to play with mates even though he knows he could play higher. he'll retire when richard foster stops coaching at uni.
lord knows various coaches have tried to get him to play higher but he's only out for the mate thing.

having been one of the coaches trying to convince him i know its not crap.
the retirement thing is also straight from wes' mouth - that's all that i can go on.
i think he doesn't feel that he has to prove anything or that football is a major focus in his life - given his job I can understand that. at least he hasn't gone the mercenary route and chased the dollars.
we also know that he is only one player and can't win a flag on his own - see the div 6 results last year
