I honestly don't think they need to wear orange. How fast is amateur football really? If players for the past 50 or 60 years can distinguish the umpires from other players, surely it's not a big deal. Maybe I'm just a tradtionalist, but I don't think it's necessary for them to wear orange. It looks stupid.

Posted: Mon Apr 03, 2006 2:06 pmonly the goal umpires donned the orange attire at the game I attended on the weekend, but definately with Pag on this one, no big deal really, might only be relevant for div 1 and perhaps div 2 games IMO
