Teams of the Year (SAAFL)

I've just had word in desperation the Sportsbeat team have been sent out to pick a
TEAM OF THE YEAR in each grade   how pathetic!

Have also heard apparently some of the coaches are pissed off. Some reckon a guy called Al Williams, came to see them and showed them his TEAM OF THE YEAR - they said he has no idea and has not even got guys at the right end of the field.

Disgraceful surely some people get paid enough to think of your own ideas

you may be correct riddler but i for one dont hold out much chance of the safooty div 5 writer being able to pick his nose..much the less choose a team of the year..you have to watch games to select players

I've heard for the Div 1 team, each club was asked to submit its best 3 players for the year. Then the team will be picked form the submitted players. That is bloody ridiculous, the team will probably be made up of 15 onballers spread across the ground. Almost better to just not have the team at all.

Clubs were asked to submit names for consideration, no limit on numbers was given.

Clubs notified yesterday, 3 from Gepps Cross I believe, Smith, Allocca and Challen, which is interesting as Challen was not in the nominated players

Yeah, probably had a dozen rovers to choose from, Chadwick would get one spot I guess.

We have 2 in the team, and one of them was not nominated either, but in hindsight, has had a great year and probably should have.

The SAAFL newsletter says that the Team of the Year will be announced on the 5RPH show this week.

My query then is, why ask for nominations from the club?????

My only thought is that it could be for perspective?

why not?
just because you ask the clubs for their point of view, doesn't make that the final decision...
it's just 1 perspective- I bet you lot would complain if they didn't ask the clubs!
