I went to Kilburn Oval yesterday to watch our C Grade play

I was really pi55ed off at the SAAFL money grabbing when charged $6 to get into the ground

I dont have a problem paying to see a GF or if a club has paid to have a home final they need to recoup that money but this was $6 straight to the SAAFL coffers to watch a C grade match.

They also had 3 bouncers walking around checking peoples boots for alcohol and generally patrolling the ground

Dont we pay enough to SAAFL each year for fees to put teams on the ground?

Some clubs charge to get into finals matches as they have to pay money to host the finals at there home ground.

it is a discrase it was same at salisbury although higher grade but they had security there as well going through car boots until a few of the wiser people come through and told them to pi#@ off because there not allowed to go through your stuff.and there aint nothing they can do about it,public place for christ sake, instead of wasting money on security checking cars give that money to the more struggling clubs saafl.

Apparently when a home team buys a final they can only charge $2 per car for parking, but when the SAAFL hold it at a neutral ground they charge per person. Please Explain?

I sold beer at the div 5 grand final at Kilburn last year and noticed that the security guards did a piss poor job of checking for booze. They walked past heaps of people drinking out of cartons.

always was the case in the past that all finals were charged for entry and it was a budgeted revenue of the league.
Only in last few years clubs could buy out the revenue the SAAFL recieved from the game and host a home final.

With the SAAFL allowing clubs to buy home finals I believe clubs have the right to stop people bringing alcohol into the ground as they are the liquor licence holder of the venue and have to comply with SA Liq & Gamb by laws.

It may seem harsh but these are the times that we live in.

Charging $6.00 for a C game is outrageous. Clubs with fences should be made to pay the same as clubs hosting finals with out fences. These clubs get a free ride in finals by picking up the BBQ Bar trade etc for no out lay while clubs paying for home finals have to have to work twice as hard to make up the outlay.

Charging for car parking was not part of the original agreement when Home Finals were first introduced.

Did kids have to pay to get in as well because at the SANFL all children under the age of 15 in the minor round get in for free.

With all the money that is supposed to be coming into the league from Thebarton the league should be able to cost this into the finals and clubs not have to pay.

REMEMBER THIS LEAGUE HAS OVER $700,000.00 IN CASH DEPOSITS I SUGGEST THAT ALL CLUBS READ THE LEAGUES FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AT THE AGM THIS YEAR. QUESTIONS NEED TO BE ASKED
WHY DO THEY NEED AL THIS MONEY?

REMEMBER THAT IS OUR MONEY THEIR AND WE SHOULD HAVE A FAIR SAY WITH WHATS HAPPENING WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there any reason why C grade games can't be on before the B's during finals? The weather is normally a bit better, so starting the A grade at 2.30 or even 2.45 would still be realistic.

That way umpires could umpire the C's then B's. I'm assuming it doesn't put a massive strain on their bodies, and they could back up from one game to the next I know.

That way, you don't have to worry about having C grade finals on Sundays.

Just a thought.

Think you will find people go through your boots because the clubs hosting the final want maximum returns in their grog sales because they do not get a cent from the gate takings. They are not bouncers, they are club volunteers and I worked on the gates numerous times. Also if you do not pay you do not accept the conditions that you enter the ground. So you can be removed because you can be an insurance liability to the hosting club as you have not accepted the conditions to enter (So keep your tickets  ) . Trust me there is nothing worse that an arrogant w*nker that refuses to pay, just put yourself in the boots of the club volunteers that work on the gate and to be told to get stuffed is not very nice.......If you do not like the conditions well do not go or watch it through the fence. Whether it is div 1 or C5 ffs its $6. You can't buy a pint at a hotel for that any more and you do not get charged a cent during the year to watch any game. I'm not saying it's right, but get over it
