Umpire payments for finals [SAAFL]

Just read on the SAAFL website that the HOME side for each final is responsible for paying ALL of the umpires. Has this been common practice in recent times? Surley the league should be repsonsible for this... Another case of clubs bleeding badly whilst the league rolls around in money and does nothing to help the clubs... DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!

Bloody oath the League should be responsible, how dare they throw that in the face of the home side thats earnt that final & paid the League $2000 to host that game.
Talk about rolling around in money Jayne, someone down there doesn't know how to spend it wisely, it shows by the wasted $amount$ spent of late on a website that has no benefit to the clubs & supporters if they can't get into it.
Disgusting all right, they ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Also the SAAFL currently has 700k in the bank!!!!

Umpires are paid in cash form at completion of the game.
It's more logistical for the clubs to pay them, & then obtain reimbursment.

The league actually places the money in the clubs account PRIOR to the game day, no re-imbursement, the money is already there for them.

ok, but the League in it's release used the term reimbursment for Week 1 of the Finals.

If I was an umpire, I'd wanna get paid on Game Day. Not have to wait for a cheque from SAAFL House and then wait 3 days for it to clear.

If the SAAFL are re-imbursing clubs then I think its a good idea.
