Fitzroy FC

No, FC has not defected to Fitzroy (yet  ), but there's a rumour doing the rounds that Fitzroy's oval is finally being resurfaced.
To what degree (& if true), I don't know.
What I do know is that "half-assed" attempts (I'm being very kind here)to patch up the Oval this year had it looking worse than ever.
Maintenance of the Oval has been an ongoing issue, with some curious decisions made over it's maintenance.
The Oval has been doomed from day 1, with the intended setling of the soil not occurring- hence the hill.
Let's hope for the sake of any & everyone that the Oval recieves the professional treatment it needs, & comes up as one of the better playing surfaces of the Amateur League- perhaps similar to Kilburns Oval.
The Fitzroy CC has relocated for season 2008-09, so maybe there is merit in this.

We also welcome any recruits for 2009.

Hey PR, have Lee & Nathan got the jobs again or are they up for grabs?

I played some of my best games at Fitzroy. For some reason I loved that oval. Might have been to do with being able to stand in the middle and look down on everyone :)

Running back to centre from the wing wasn't much fun though.

I don't believe either the A or B grade jobs are up for grabs at the moment.

It's ok mate, I'm not trying to poach, I was good mates with both of them at different times of my life, two top blokes. Are they still in contract, I wish them all the best.

what I was saying is no decision has been reached yet by the Committee- but I would think they will both be on board for 2009.

Jointman, if you are who I think you are (SH) the oval would have been flat back then, in fact the world was flat back then.
