McLaren football club is a growing family orientated club based in the Great Southern Football League. We have modies (U9), Minis (U12), Junior Colts (U14), Senior Colts (U17), B grade and A grade. We have a very successful group of up and coming juniors with our Junior Colts having just won back to back premierships and our senior colts winning their premiership last year and making the grandfinal again this year =D>

We have a young list of very capable seniors at our club who need just one or two more pieces in the 'jigsaw puzzle' to complete an all round club and hold us in good stead for years to come.

So if you think this sounds like a great place to be.... it is !!

If you think you are the missing 'piece of the jigsaw' then give us a buzz... we'd love to hear from you \:D/

The future looks bright at McLaren :)

Should be a ban on pre-season training until March. The SAAFL should have an officer responsible for checking whether clubs are undertaking any such training and fine/remove premiership points for any offending clubs. It's getting ridiculous when clubs have to start earlier and earlier each year to keep up with eachother.

I think March is a bit rough there Shrek, maybe mid January, I do think it is getting ridiculous though, it is the "amateur" league.

Kilo is a wise man. I can't say Saturday night did me no favours haha

However, I have noticed a trend of starting pre-season earlier. Professionalism appears to be filtering down the leagues/grades in that effort to get a competitive edge over your opponents. It's just evolution of the league. If people get fitter and more skillful, is that a bad thing?

I know a sleect group of players at my club dont stop in the off season. they have a few weeks off to recover from premiership celebrations, presentation, mad monday etc and then work as a group on a program which changes and involves the occasional kick of the footy. So when pre season comes around they are ahead of the pack and less overall stress on the body. Early start works if you dont flog a dying horse. player management is the key

pre seasons are over rated. if you start pre season november your just asking to be worn out get over use injuries or just sick of the game there is reason why its only played for half a year and pre season is starting to turn it in to an all year round sport. IMO :D

I disagree, I think it varies from person to person. That is - some are more 'naturally' fit than others. I am not one of those, so I believe I benefit from a pre-season more than most. IMO :)
