Maybe Mark Shadiac will take notice of it & work tirelessly to reinstate the Amateurs at no.1, i'm not holding my breath!

Better still, let's call a vote of no confidence in the board or get a special gm or something.

Club Umpires is also a major issue with blatant bias to home teams and association medal votes (makes a farce of who wins), champion club voting system, just to mention a few.

FOURTH ESTATE wrote:Making changes at Tynte street is always hard with Shadiac running the show.
Several of the members on the SAAFL board have been there for quite a while.
The new members of the Executive are hand picked mates of Shadiac I believe.
This is where change need to occur and can only be done at AGM with several Executive members up for re election this year
They don't care much about clubs when it comes to costs.
FOURTH ESTATE wrote:I don't believe that we should be playing Grand Finals at League grounds. They should be at SAAFL grounds. I know that not all clubs have fences but lower grade grand finals could be played at these grounds thus putting funds in clubs and not the same clubs getting finals every year.
I also believe that clubs with fences should pay for the right to host a final and not getting a free ride every week of the finals.
FOURTH ESTATE wrote:Introducing a U/19 comp only deletes the player pool even further this will only benefit College sides as a defacto intercollegiate program. Any U/19 coming player coming out of the SANFL would be playing in a SAAFL B Grade side at the minimum.
FOURTH ESTATE wrote:The lack of open age state football is another problem. Too many average players are now earning a state jumper. It is a slap in the face to all the former state players that had to work their butt off to represent the state.
If you want to be the best in the league you should be playing in the top grade not getting a free ride because of your age.
FOURTH ESTATE wrote:Now is the time for change. I believe that it is now or never. We can say what we like in thses forums or actually do something about it. It is up to us and our club delegates to push the changes.

The inconsistency of the Tribunal. 2 blokes from Portland getting rubbed out for a trivial offence for example. Plus preferential treatment of some clubs players in the higher divisions because they are in the state squad etc. I'm sure that some Port Adelaide based clubs have more to add if they wish![]()

You've got an axe to grind obviously, so,
A) What's your agenda in improving the SAAFL?
B) If you're in power, what would you do to improve it?
Give us something other than just "anyone could do a better job than those people running it now".
Easy to criticise from the outside...
