I think at the beginning of the 2006? season if a player was suspended for more than 12 games in total their club was advised of the player that they were on notice and if they or any other player collected more than 12 weeks they would be de-registered from the league. I will stand corrected if I am wrong

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

I thought there was a clause that the club could put up a bond to register the player and if good behaviour followed then the ban would be lifted. However if suspended again under the bond then expulsion from the SAAFL for life

Close but it was actually only implemented at the beginning of 2008.

For any player that had accumulated 12 or more games in the 3 years prior, they were banned.

The clubs could put up their argument for re-instating the said player and act as guaranteur (sp) if the player buggered up again, the player was banned for life again and the club loses it's bond.

Yes, all players under this new ruling are still banned and at this stage I believe there is no plan to re-visit the rule.

So has anybody tried placing a good behaviour bond on one of these players? Has it worked? Is it likely to work?

I know of one that applied last season and was told to try again this year. He didn't get a hearing or anything of that nature.

Only because it was something that was at one stage very close to my heart after the whole bloodbath thing.

Wouldn't have been much chance of any appeals going through last year, at my guess only to show that the league were serious about the clean up.

Wonder how Ty will go in the YPL. I know someone who will be playing with him at Wallaroo, he'll let me know if a leopard changes his spots.
