Gepps Cross V Salisbury North

Looking for something to do on Saturday from about 6 o'clock for a couple of hours?

Duncan Fraser reserve will see a 6 quarter trial of the old arch enemies on the hallowed turf of Ram Park.

What could be better than a beer, a barby and a game of footy? Nothing, so bring it on!

Heh,Heh,Heh, making silly statements again or at that time of the night was it something you ate?

From our days in Div 2 buddy, you know what I mean 'cause you're now there. By default!

Ace , 2002 GF , one team ,GX down to 17 players after 1/2 time v 18 and prevailed in a great match. any good signs today? would like your input . don't want to rely on the reports of the "transient wedding guests "

Won a div 1 premiership yet Ace?

Talking about Darren reminded me of the gentlemen's agreement not to poach players. Franky, Bullfrog and now Polky and ringing Pete Leslie. Doesn't sound like you're sticking to your word!

I know where you are going, but he agreed to a two year deal with us. I understand his reasons for going and don't bear any grudge, I think he is a great guy, but Denno wasn't twiddlling his thumbs doing nothing the whole time.

Darren Francis approached us(via his stepfather/keeper/mentor??) and his hungry little frogeyed wingman mate couldn't stand the coach (ex PHOS) at the time and they were like Siamese twins except one of them could actually play footy,so if you want to have a crack, at least get your story right beforehand.
To be perfectly frank with you Shrek, Polky's shift back to Gepps Cross was instigated by his wife who is on the Gepps Junior committee. She did not enjoy the Kilburn 'family culture' and made it very hard for Polkie to stay there and it's not as if he hadn't been at GX before. Not aware of the other name, I have nothing to do with recruiting of players but I do know via the 'grapevine' that if any of your guys were spoken to, it was because they are mates of Polkie and no other reason.

To answer your query about a Div 1 premiership, that is a simple no; however your tenure at Kilburn had "jacksh*t to do with that but feel free to use it, it may be a while before we win one and you win another but we can cope with that. Can you?
You were far too busy swanning around out at Hummocks Watchman making a name for yourself and not a real good one at that!

On a similar issue, a couple of years back you guys did the same thing to us, did we bleat about it? Hardly because we were glad they moved on to higher places.

Moz, some very good signs today. Considering both teams had several players out for whatever reason, it was a valuable hit-out. We have certainly found a few blokes that can play and getting Alex Stengle today was be a bonus. We have improved our pace dramatically and Joel Campbell and his brother were very good in that area, also found a ruckman from somewhere.
The boys showed some great signs, there was some aggression not normally seen in too many trials but it cost Salisbury North a yellow card from one incident and a Red from another and a Wed night journey to the tribunal for number 11.

We'll get about 8 players, mainly A graders back next week to give us a further indication of where we are heading.
The early game was pretty good too considering we played a few U/18 kids and I think we're going in the right direction.

I hear there is a very young ruckman, barely out of the Under 18's, who is a very, very exciting prospect. 18 years old and 6'5, and not scared of the hard stuff. May not start in the A's but will make it by season's end.

His two little brothers CAN PLAY too. Still only juniors at Gepps, though.

Went down to Gepps Sat night for a look. Seen the A grade match and was what i thought a decent contest. The skills were poor early but the wind was horrible and the conditions didn't allow for it to be a skillfull game. Looked to me that both sides had players out but both sides will be in the mix again. As for the breakout's ( Fights) They were under control and to be honest there wasn't much in the first send off the Red card though was deserved in every possible way, he started something and tried acting like a tough guy if anything he let his team meates and club down by his silly behaviour. Might be a long year for him if he keeps this up!!!

Your right about the control of temper for the spoken SNFC player, if his behavior can be controlled he will tear up this comp this yr.. SNFC had 10 players missing from last yrs GF side so if both sides were missin a few youd think that they both will play a part in finals footy. Good to see the $$ monkey is off one clubs back and on another too.. :)

A bit too cryptic there Winger, Explain! (Don't tell me you're a Pauline Hansen lookalike)

If they are serious at the tribunal, it's probably worth 2 or 3 games if not just to send a message to the competition that this type of action won't be tolerated. They tell me he's a good player but has a habit of "going mental at the drop of a hat"; that won't help his footy club one bit nor will spending half the season standing on the mound.
