Reserve Grades Home finals why is this so?

Was just having a look at the draft of venues for this weeks finals and noticed that in two different grades the b grade team that finished higher are playing the lower team at their home ground even though their A grade team is playing a home final this week.

In case I lost you here are the two examples. I have put where the team finished in brackets:

Div 3
Walkerville(2) V Old Iggies(5) @ Walkies
SPOC(1) V SMOSH(3) @ SPOC
Div 3R
Walkerville(1) V SPOC(2) @ SPOC
Para Hills(3) V Mitcham(5) @ Walkies

Div 4
CBC(1) V PAOC(2) @ CBC
Pooraka(3) V Fitzroy(4) @ Pooraka
Div 4R
PAOC(1) V GG(2) @ Pooraka
Pooraka(3) V CBC(5) @ CBC

Now I understand the B Grade follow the A grade home final team so in both examples Walkies B's and Pooraka's B's should play at the respective semi final 1 ground. Therefore coincidently having a home ground advantage, but instead not only do they not play at their home ground, they have to play at the other teams home ground!
I have already heard one opinion on this and that is because the A grade team finished top (SPOC and CBC) They get to have their B Grade follow them no matter where their B Grade finished! If this is the case this is surely not a fair system.

You get rewarded for the position in which your A's finish mate. I think it's fair as it rewards your club for where your premier team finishes on the Ladder.I dont see an issue with it.

Happened to PAOC last year in the B grade. Finished 2nd, us 3rd. We finished second in the A grade, and had a home QF - PAOC B grade had to come to our deck and play.

Only way to do it im afraid.

Yes but in this game they were both semi final 1 games weren't they? i.e. 2 v 3
In the top example the B grade semi final 1 game has not followed the A grade semi final 1 game.
However if what Laughing Kook says is true than I guess it has been answered. I still think it should be B grade semi final 1 follows wherever A grade semi final 1 is no matter what teams are involved.
I think it is a little rough that CBC's B grade just managed to sneak into the finals in 5th but because their A's finished top they get a home final.

The bit I don't like is that B Grade teams have no say on where they play (have to follow the A Grade fixtures), yet you can buy a C Grade home final. Almost encourages teams to stack their C Grades so they can finals at home if their As and Bs aren't making the five.

Well whats a better way of doing it? Logistically it would be a nightmare for clubs. We only have a certain amount of resources and a lot of these are shared between the grades. B graders are the ones who put $50+ of money over the bar and create a lot of the atmosphere.

Our a grade finished top and and paid for the right of the final.

Yep good point, and would make sense in most circumstances. However Pooraka and Walkerville are also paying for the home final this week, and have both grades in the finals. If semi final 1 in the reserves followed semi final 1 in the A's like it should be then Pooraka and Walkerville would have both teams playing at home, and considering both B grade teams finished higher than their opponents this would make sense.

Yep, logistical nightmare but it works fine they way they do it now because I sure know that my club doesnt have an extra half a dozen support staff to go to another ground.

Our support staff are going to have a fun weekend...
A's @ Goodwood 2:15pm
B's @ Gepps 12:00pm

and on Sunday...
C's @ Campbelltown 2:15pm
18's @ Salisbury North 3:00pm

Luckily the D Grade are straight through the the GF so won't be playing on Sunday or else we would be well and truly stuffed!!

Im with you on this one FF. Seems very strange especially in the Div 4 fixture. With all the comments about teams having logistic nightmares if there A and B grade played at different venues surely it would make more sense if PAOC A and B grade played at CBC and Pooraka A and B grade played at Pooraka then only 1 team would have to worry about getting support staff to 2 grounds instead of the 2 teams that are going to have to do it with the way it is now. CBC payed to have a home final as they finished top which is fair enough there A grade earnt it. They will still have 2 games there this Saturday whether or not its there B grade or PAOC's. Seems a little unfair that a 5th placed B grade team gets a home final over another B grade team that finished higher when there is an opportunity to be playing home also. My 2cents
