Rumour Mill

Postby Footy Follower » Fri Oct 16, 2009 3:37 pm

Thought I might make a specific subject dedicated to all those posters out there that like to put the big rumour stories up. This can be for every division so everyone can see what is happening.

Well I my as well start us off.

A little birdy told me that St Pauls Old collegians may be changing their name to Mawson Lakes Football club!? Couldn't find on any other forum if this had been mentioned yet.

The birdie was correct. Remember to give him some extra birdseed tonight as a reward. ;)

Flew away apparently....

Yes the dead kookaburra wasn't funny....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

If we're going to open old wounds I reckon the kookaburra was brown, blue and white. So it should be the Kenilworth faithful that were upset, not a yellow, green and blue kookaburra that was shot during a paintball skirmish game  Seriously what kookaburra is that colour

Was talking to a member of a certain club last night who tells me they had 11 applicants for their vacant coaching spot, 3 are already coaching elsewhere but what astounded me the most was the $$$$'s some were asking for ranging from $5K to $12K

Which leads me to the question, what's a good coach worth and what constitutes a good coach?
What attributes does a person need to substantiate his value or coaching worth?

money shouldnt come into it aceman, renumeration just offsets phone, petrol and money spent at club during season. Most coaches do it because they enjoy it or is a way of staying involved in the game once playing has finished.

Granted but there's a fair gap between $5K & $12K so unfortunately not everyone thinks like you TT.
If I were involved in the selection process, I'd want to know what "extra" will/can the more expensive guy bring that will be of benefit to the club and warrant so much extra money, hence my question.
