Has anyone heard any outcome from the SAAFL meeting monday night about Goodwood Saints. The meeting was about whether goodwood would lose their points for games that were played with mark demasi in the side, suppodesly goodwood had to get a clearance from salisbury even though it was 13 years ago when he last played for the club.

God 13 years ago, I don't follow the A1 competition that closely but feel somone like Demasi could make the difference between finishing mid table and playing on Grand Final day.

I'm thinking after that amount of time they could only ark up if he was non-financial or something...

his brother plays for us! Im thinking thats wrong unless like most league/ressies players he was still being registered by sailsbury as most i think are meant to be assigned to a local club so although he never played he may have been registered as the time frame you dont need a clearance for is after 2-3 years i may stand corrected?

I am pretty sure you still need to apply for the clearance even though it is automatic after 3 years

I can tell you our footy club (Salisbury) wouldn't have a problem with Mark going to Goody Saints, I'm sure it's just the league having to do everything 'by the book'.

Did he play seniors at Salisbury?

I'm not sure if he played seniors or colts, but if it was 13 years ago, I don't even think we were a part of the SAAFL in 1993...

The SAAFL is definitely trying to clean up clearances between SAAFL clubs and it's affiliated leagues going by correspondence sent out to clubs in the last 4-6 weeks. Alot of clubs are getting caught out not getting clearances for senior colts (16+) as most clubs have had the perception that if they have only played juniors then you don't need a clearance. If this is the case, Goodwood should only cope a fine. If he played seniors then it will be interesting to see what the SAAFL does.
