If this does'nt whack the buggery out of a lot of inner city clubs nothing will. I'm pretty sure that the backbone of the majority of these teams are made up of Private School players, who are required to play for their schools on a Saturday.

Payneham, Walkerville, Broadview, Fitzroy, in the NEMJFA alone would be lucky to field a team if the juniors are bought back to a Saturday morning. Not so sure about Geppys, Para Hills, Ingle Farm, & Pooraka but they'd lose a few as well one would think.

do they have brains at SAAFL house???? obviously not

my 2 cents on what has got to happen the Saturday school footy comp has got to go the school players then go and join a club and the OS teams can set up junior extensions of their current setup and take the players from their respective schools. the school kids that leave school now, go out to their OS clubs and have no club respect and shirk behind the scenes duties ( well maybe this is just my OS club i dont know)

the schools if they really must can set up an Intercol league to be played in round robin format on wednesdays ie Saints, PAC, Rostrevor, Scotch etc.

the way the school footy is being run currently at my OS club's school, i think that we could be up the proverbial creek with out a paddle sooner than we may think. 2nds getting done by Sacred Heart 4ths by over 20 goals

Yes the SAAFL have once again pulled another pearler out their collective behinds. It is hard enough now getting enough young lads to fill a team but to put SAAFL underage games in direct competition with school footy is baffling.Sheik yes Gepps would feel the pinch as we have a number of boys playing with us from St Pauls, Prescott and Friars.
