Was told tonight that club's in the finals would be allowed another 2 points for there players points because of the extra interchange player.

It was on a handout re finals from the most recent delegates meeting.

Makes sense as you have 22 players for finals instead of the minor round 21.

this was the case last year with 17 points available in finals as was asked by the Clubs last year

Only going to benfit a couple of clubs, the one's carrying extra point player's in the "b" grade. You are getting a extra player but you could bring in two x 1 point player's and drop a no point player.

With an extra player allowed and 22 players per team, it would be fair to suggest that the sides playing in finals "generally but not always" have the most depth on their lists and therefore the more points are needed and is warranted. The system of points is another issue altogether, and personally think it is ordinary at best, but as we are left with this less than ideal system, the extra points are the only fair way to do it.

I know its happened for ever, by why do you actually get an extra player in the finals. Why not stay at 3 or have 4 all year.

I seriously think some people would complain about the Christmas presents they get.
This was put up to the delegates last year and passed by them
There is no change this year.
If you dont like it, speak to your club and, if they dont like it, raise it at a General Committee meeting to have it voted on.

Because the Club delegates voted it in
The reason behind it was to give more players the opportunity to play finals and play in a premiership

From Div 1 - Div 7, it equates to 14 extra players playing in a premiership (1 in A and 1 in B Grade) also gives another 14 players the experience of playing in a GF (despite it being a losing one)

So each year 28 young men get the chance to play in a GF, without the rule 28 young men miss out
