With the minor rounds over for the year, we had out count saturday night.

Portlands A grade went to Dale Laslett by a fair way, was a very deserving winner after the season he has had.
Brett Prior was second and also has had a great year.

B grade was a young guy Sam Arnold and another youngster Daniel Britton second by a few votes.

C grade was Michael Bawden, has dominated most ruckman in c2 all season.

Congrats to all of them.

Who won other clubs??

Was Daniel 'The Wanderer' MacAdam close to taking out the B grade BnF? I know he missed a few games here and there.

It's incredible to think all clubs view there b@f differently. The 2 clubs I have been involved with outside MP both had their count after round 18. MP have there's on Presentation night with only the select committee and the coaching staff knowing the result. You sure need to have a close association with your coaches to keep their mouths shut.

Fair point to raise Yank Man. I personally think it's best to hold off until preso night...give the night a bit more meaning, and people will pay more attention on the night. Would probably be easier to get people to attend too if they still think theyre a chance to take out a medal.

How did Grimmond go DK?

Our count isn't till the 5th of October do clubs always do there counts this early regardless of playing finals or not? or do they still do the counts now even if your still playing?

I guess it also raises the arguement of why you would end your B&F whilst your still playing? Do clubs end it at round 18 or do finals count?

Think a few seasons ago they counted finals but the last 3 seasons we had it a week or 2 after round 18.

Having it on presentation night would make it drag on to much in my opinion.

Up until maybe 5 years ago we would would have the count on the Sunday morning after the last minor round game.

But now the count is done on presentation night on a power point.

Our A grade, B grade and D grade captains all won the Best and Fairest in their respective grades and our C grade captain finished third in their voting.

At least the winners aren't already known which could be the difference between players attending the presentation or not.

I dont mind the idea at a previous club I was at. After round 18 they do the votes up to about round 14 and then do the remaining rounds on presentation night.
Presentation night is not too drawn out and keeps it interesting (Unless you have a run a way leader) but even then their is still interest in the minor placings
