Just following on from the div 7 thread, where I came to the discovery of a former Hope Valley players' real name after 4 years
Is there anyone at your club who has ONLY ever been called by their nickname and you've never known their real name?
Freddy was another one at PNU, took me about 2 years before I discovered that Mark Campbell wasn't his brother

In my first years at Houghton there were three blokes who I only knew as Smokey, Sooty & Shags. When I'd hear or see their real name I'd think "who the **** is that?".

Played footy and cricket all my life. Cricket, however dished up more nicknames than footy. At the cricket club I have spent 30+ years at, all the new players had no idea who the players were or what the nickname meant. The nickname never had anything to do with their last name, and nearly always was referencing a very ordinary behavioural issue that had taken place at a night club or end or season trip. The new players had NFI who was who for years. We had, just as a starter - Foul House, Pud, Gigaboo, Max, Piggo, Moover, Cad, Squid, Jack, Chewey, Small and Snore. Even now we greet each other with these nicknames and nobody has a clue.

I knew Shaggys name - I don't think I know Brumby (Boosh or Nicole should be able to tell me if I do

)
Barrell was around many moons ago, when I was there.

Cricket definately comes up with the most nicknames and often they evolve as the days play goes on

There will be NO game of hangman - nor attempting to put a name to a username (thank you Mighty Bulls).
Because lets face it, no one really wants to know

Trevor "Barrell" McDonald, is running laps with the optimistic plan of playing 1 game in the D's this year
Also I would appreciate if I wasn't associated with nicole on here, it's bad for my rep

When I first started playing at Pooraka 9-10 years ago, club legend Chris Wilton I only ever knew as "Nubbo." I would say a good 3-4 years passed before I knew his real name.

You mean Dunny? I know Dunny! but we called him Dunny - not bloody Brumby.
we used to go to his place for pizza all the time after the club shut so we made up a song to the tune of "we're going to Ibiza" by the vengaboys and called it "we're going to eat Pizza....at DUnnys"
Or was that Budgie's?
F*** I'm getting old
