It's mentioned in the RMFL thread

Clayton coach, Thurgood Assistant Coach, both playing. Another former Maggie is to be the bench coach.

Have to say Gepps Cross would have been thoroughly underwhelmed with the season Thurgood gave them. For a bloke coming in with his experience and reputation, straight out of league Football he didn't give them nearly as much as they would have hoped.

With Gepps avoiding relegation by the skin of their teeth, Thurgood's form might have been a reflection on how the Rams performed this season. Either that or he might have been a victim of the Gecko factor and was smart enough to get now.....Certainly wasn't the worst I have seen this year and still a useful player that would fit into most line-ups I would think..

Regardless of the contract expiring, it's only 1 or the other. Either he decided he didn't wanna go on next year, or the club didn't wanna give him another "contract".

that's funny - if Dizzies can't afford him, he isn't exactly in Portlands budget then, is he...

Heard a rumour this morning from a source who has absolutely no reason to lie (but I'm being vague because it's so incredulous I have my doubts).

Is a certain Division 1 finalist facing such a substantial exodus that it is exploring requesting to be relegated to Div 2? Will Gaza be offered a lifeline?

If true I'm amazed that a number of clubs have fallen into the same hole so close to the entire League enduring the Kilburn/Brahma Lodge debacles of 2014

I don't think it's even that - there were other clubs before that but they were made to suck it up in the division they were in and let natural attrition take place.

A dangerous precedent was set where clubs will now dictate where they want to play based on how well they can retain paid players or recruit.

In saying that - TTG is a proud club, this would've been a hard decision for them to make.

Second time they've done it in 2 years considering their C Grade a few years back.

Not too proud evidently

C grade somewhat different to A grade but technically yes, you're right - I'd actually forgotten about that.

That would be like Henley requesting to go down a div and having a crack at their C grade who taken the option not to go up on more than 1 occasion, even though not quite the same circumstances.

Make them stay and let them cop their whack, if club's haven't learnt from Kilburn about being financially sustainable then continually letting them off the hook isn't going to achieve anything either.

We've all won a wooden spoon at one time or another, it shouldn't be the end of your club if you have good people within it.

Couldn't agree more. In any given year someone comes first and someone comes last.

Kilburn and Mitchell Park took their medicine manfully, I don't see why other clubs shouldn't have to do the same.

TTG will be in Div 1 next year. End of story.
Mitch will be coaching, Josh Hand and Adam Cockshell have re-signed.
Things are looking onwards and upwards at TTG and we can't wait for the 2015 season.
