I don't see how that could be - Brahma would've paid next to zero on player payments this year..

We all know that you can refuse to clear unfinancial players.

In the interests of equity should the Rules be amended to prevent the clearance of players to unfinancial clubs (being those that have not lived up to their contractual obligations)?

that would be a decision for the CFB, not for the league.

I'm speaking more philosophically than mechanically. All seems fair to me.

Do many clubs pay out full match fees in bulk at the end of the year? Could this be the scenario Sw players were faced with?

From a cash flow perspective that model is insane.

Any Salisbury West or Kilburn people who have fallen for that were equally shocked to learn that gullible was removed from the dictionary.

Agreed, pay at presentations that night. Keeps it simple and the sums manageable.

That way, there's more chance of it going back in the till in exchange for beers :D

From what I have heard they were hoping to have 2 x major functions at the end of the year to cover for the payments bit players are yet to see anything. Im guessing they have had these functions. Kilburns players have all been paid from previous years. Albeit slightly late but better late than never.
On another note about money. I hear brahma lodge have told their last years coach he will not be receiving money for coaching as they have not got any..
I think it should be a weekly payment as a lump sum can catch an unorganised club off guard.[/quote]
Incorrect. I will be getting paid just not in the expected time frame.

Gone are the days where you play for loyalty. I was ONCE a paid player but now receive no match fee. Love the club and it kills me to see players come for one year to receive a paycheque and have no consideration for where the club wants to be.

Agree it is a sad state of affairs but it is a fact of life these days.

Just have to recruit the right type of person as opposed to the right type of player.

Something my club used to get horribly wrong but is getting it right these days.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

It's good to be back but that wasn't a good day for us if im thinking of the same game.

I have lost a lot of finals so it is hard to keep track of them all.
