Let's not be too hard on morell he's actually a very good footballer, shame his knee blew up again. We had 5 of our best out with work commitments and Uni exams but the improvement is coming from work rate and a bit of belief. I guess the lads are getting sick of being pumped every week. Massive challenge though this week against the rampant Hawks. :)

I was told seven Flinders lads donned the marcellina on the weekend?

6 actually EV, and we've changed the marcellina guernsey to one that resembles a different marcellina. I pushed for RED with red shorts but didn't get my way. :D Maybe we can now become Red White and Blue. ;)
Thankfully! :YMSICK: :YMSICK:

I heard there was a unpire walk off at the game between Mawson Lakes and Blackfriars in the B grade on the Sat just gone. Must have been pretty bad for him to walk off.

Not at all bad...there was a free awarded to Blackfriars, the ML bench didn't agree and I think a line something like 'you've got to be kidding' was said and he just took his shirt off and walked off...he was the ML umpire...the BOS ump tried to reason with him but couldn't change his mind...apparently not the first time this has happened to the same guy.

In all fairness though. Im pretty sure I know the bloke in question. He's a dam good umpire and a good bloke too. Ive seen first hand the crap he takes some games and Im not surprised he walked off. I cant see to fathom how spectators can abuse their own umpires to the point they walk off the field. The guys that umpire the B & C Grades are all volunteers and without them, there would be no game. Seriously all spectators need to just be seen than heard.

I've heard the same for what it's worth.

I probably don't want anyone speculating but Id suggest it could have something to do with crowd behaviour.

Once i find out for sure, you'll all be the first to know.

Well I think you might be getting used to replacements if the crowd continues to abuse their own umpy.

Didn't see or hear the incident. But to be honest if that's all it takes for him to crack the shits, one little comment then he obviously didn't want to be there.

Im pretty sure he wouldnt have cracked it and walked off unless it was abuse directed towards him in some sense. Over many years of contributing to the club and copping it for the decisions he makes. I too would find it hard to want to do it week in and week out.

Like I said, the umpires volunteer their own times to make it possible for the players to play footy. Without them there would be no games to play.
