clubs and players under investigation

Postby dee man » Fri Apr 25, 2014 3:03 am

After recent troubles in leagues with one sided games and clubs going under for a number of reasons,it has been highly publised that at the core of the problems has been money, especially player payments and rewards
A recent page three or maybe five article in the advertiser quoted payment costs by clubs to players
As you are all well aware none of these payments are ever declared or in nearly all cases denied
The ATO has approached journalists and others to get a feel of the real amount of money that is being spent and are setting up a plan of attack on clubs
This will not be limited to Aussie Rules but soccer is another highly out of control spending area
Most will laugh and think that their is no way that they can find out but we all know that if government agiences can sense money they will get it
How safe is your club and players
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

It would end up costing more in Workcover and enforcement than they'd make.

Won't happen

Clubs going under due to increasing player payments is a crock! There are many clubs out there that don't pay players and manage to survive ok. It's an easy excuse for those clubs that are mismanaged.

As for the ATO thing. Signing a hobby income form should take care of any worries there :D

any club who can afford to pay 60k plus in player payments should pay tax
