If you are going to sell drinks, just make sure you sell more than Garry's record of 600. He wouldn't shut up about it at training last night ;)

Not sure that constitutes Massive, but still funny.

Last week their Div2 results scrolling across the bottom had one team playing both semis (PNU from memory).

D1 GF is now in almost direct competition with the Power final.

I wonder if the extra revenue from yesterday will now go towards big screens to show the game ;) 8)

I suspect next week will see the end of the quadruple header experiment.

Worth trying. Time to move on next year (convenience of calander depending I hope they go back to div 3, 2 and 1 at the by in consecutive weeks)

If they league really wants to play more divs at thebby, they need to nominate in advance games that will be friday and or saturday night so teams can prepare knowing it's that way.

No reason why you couldn't then play 6 divs GFs at Thebby.

Div 6R Friday 6:15
Div 6 Friday 8:30
Div 5R Saturday 12:00
Div 5 Saturday 2:15
Div 4R Saturday 6:15
Div 4 Saturday 8:30

Repeat the above the following weekend for Div 3-1.

Sure, its not ideal for teams to have to play Night after playing day all season, but if it's announced before the season starts that those grades will have GFs at that time, everyone has time to prepare for it, we all train at night so no big deal, and it certainly beats the 9am games!!!

Starting a GF at 8:30 on a Saturday night is more preposterous than any game at 9am

A grade GF finishes @ 10.30 when most alcohol certs close off @ 12. Would destroy 2 clubs revenue after the GF. No way is that fair....

On a smaller scale this discussion to me highlights one of the biggest flaws in the quadruple header model. Your club takes home the A1 flag, the pinnacle of amateur football, and no one gets back to the club until 8:30 pm for what for many will be less than 3 hours of general merriment.

In my opinion that's very much not what amateur football is about

Still would destroy your potential income. Drinking till 3-4 am only appeals to a small portion of your club.

The gran final programming has been a complete joke. Quadruple headers starting at 8.30am for senior footballers - the less said the better. The Exec at their best - you can definately see that their clubs wern't involved in the early starts. Have spoken to a number of players from the first match and they tolerated it as it was a GF (best way of putting it) but no-one liked it.
What is good enough in the minor round should be good enough in the final series. You play at set time during the season, you play at the same times in all finals. Also why do rules change in the finals series. You play with 3 interchange through the whole minor season and change the rules to 4 interchange in the finals. Again if clubs want 4 interchange use 4 for the complete season. Also allowing permits in finals - if a club can't manage their players why should they expect the league to help them out in managing the players and even assist in stacking a team. When a permit is issued the opposition is disadvantaged and gets upset with the situation and the league. If a permit is disallowed that club is disappointed and upset with the league. Easiest way NO PERMITS. As said earlier it is up to the clubs to ensure that their players qualify for where they are to play finals.
