Ricky Thomas was pretty handy in all of the United games that I seen.

I'm hearing of a couple more big signings....one of them being literally big...as in of rather wide girth.

Reports coming in that this character of wide girth is backing himself to win the D1 medal.

Seems the opportunity to have a third statue erected in his honour at a new club was what sealed the deal for the player of wide girth.

I came up with the 'wide girth' bit all on my own. Though to the casual onlooker, this is an obvious observation.

Also, Alex Stengle is the other who has apparently signed with SN.

I would love to see Payneham do the 3peat. Has anyone ever won three consecutive Premierships in different divisions? Tough ask but would be an amazing achievement by the club to win 3, 2, 1. Who knows with the list they had last year, if they can retain majority of those players and maybe add one or two big men, I would seriously consider them as a threat to this division.

Did SPOC do it a few years back?

I seem to remember they made it from Div 3 to an A1 flag pretty quickly, but there may have been a pit stop somewhere along the way

EDIT - A quick search tells me that they won consecutive A2 and A1 Flags in 2011 and 2012. They were promoted to A2 at the start of the 2010 season after losing the A3 Grand Final in 2009 to Walkerville. Impressive nonetheless.

I met him last night. He was at South. You would suspect a few recruits to come with him. Still moves alright himself. Seems like a nice guy
