What are clubs like Adelaide University, Central United, Flinders University, Greenacres, Houghton Districts, Mawson Lakes, North Pines, Smithfield & Wingfield Royals going to be able to do as their current groups retire off?
The clubs with juniors and the old scholars bloc are pretty obvious, but what rules are in place for the University clubs. Do the other clubs with no juniors have to rely on a minimum of recruits and then newbies?

I dont think many teams have huge chunks of players retiring or leaving at the end of every year. If you bring in 4 to 5 new players from elsewhere every year, you'll be fine. The chances of all of them coming from the same club are pretty slim.

15 points = 5 x 3 point players in Year 1, following season those are still worth 10 points before you start. Effectively could only bring in 1 or 2 each year there after.

Lose a couple of zero pointers for whatever reason and things would be awkward, unless you play your recruits in the B-Grade for a few years to get their points down.

Those clubs could always decide to contribute to football?

I understand this will be voted on on Monday night. Is the vote only on whether 2 point players will now be worth 3 points? Or does it also include players that were formally worth 0 point are now worth 1 point? or whether the maximum points allocations be 13 or 15?

Well if a club wanted 4 from another club they would clear them in order of ability so the lower you get the more likely you would lose out.

Unfortunately I would be the last cleared in this circumstance but luckily for me I don't have many friends.

It appears your club is testing this rule with the 5 salisbury west boys

That is, if I want to transfer from SPOC to Uni, but 3 people this season already have and SPOC doesn't want to let anyone else transfer, there's nothing in the new 10.3A to prevent me clearing from SPOC to Walkerville to Uni as Walkerville would become the "current club"

I think there is a rule to stop this. Using your little scenario both spoc and walkerville would have to clear the player to Uni I believe, i think it's if the player hasn't played a game for the new club the old club still has to clear them or transfers to 2 clubs on the one off season

At last meeting it was voted to keep it at 15 but in the CFL APPS 2015 rules posted on the SAAFL website it says 13.

I think (not 100% sure) the maximum allocation from any league to a club is now 13 but a club can then apply to the CFL for extra points.

The leagues can approve up to 15 points to address local issues.

That's how I read it. The system has more holes in it than a food drainer. It is up to each league to set points up to the maximum. I get the gist of it and understand the reasons behind it but frankly in the country they just pay more for guns so the $$$ only go to the best. Not that it has happened, but a club like ours needs to find 20 players. Our problem, no biggie, but if we get all of them and they are 3,2,1 pointers then we blow the system apart. I like it but it needs serious review. ;)

B-graders from other leagues being worth one point certainly makes things a little trickier.

That's not how I read this:

(c) A player who has played a majority of matches for the Reserves (B Grade) Team but has also played any match in the Senior (A Grade) Team of a Club or Clubs in any Other League in the previous two playing seasons and is transferring from one Club to another Club within the same Affiliated League – will have a Player Points Rating of zero (0).
