I'm sure your right, just in my view, if you're 18 and mildly serious about your football D Grade is pretty much a grave yard.
It resembles the sport which is played in A/B Grades, but you'd have to be generous to call it the same thing
I tend to agree....The highly motivated that don't find themselves having a crack in the SANFL etc. have more to gain by the intensity and competitive level of playing A's B's and even C grade as ability dictates.
At the "Den" our D grade is as you suggest is more for those still enjoying the game in the twilight of their careers playing in a less demanding environment along side any youngsters whose ambitions may not aspire to anything beyond a social grade of football as most subscribe to the standard of what the D grade is.
Having a large number of U/18's graduate to Senior football in 2014 we now have I believe four or five of those boys who particularly benefited by being exposed to the intensity levels at training and competition in the Reserves (even the odd A grade game) last season who now are challenging strongly for senior spots in 2015.
Similarly others who were grounded in the C grade and who remain motivated enough are also keen to progress their careers at more senior levels at the Club.
