New lows - so now you're saying a C1 side can beat a D1R side?

For what it's worth he's right. Portland's reserve side is very average

R18 in C1 looks a beauty. AU need to beat Henley to finish top. Henley need to beat AU to finish third if Athelstone lose. But Goodwood need to beat Athelstone to finish top if AU lose, while Athelstone have to win to claim third spot.

Add to that, If Henley and Athelstone loose then ROCs will jump to third too

With injuries reaching over 30, 21 of which are out from your starting A grade i would have thought  any reserve side would be average! Kick em while their down i say

All Im saying is be realistic. The ressies had 0 wins.

Regardless of reasons why, it would be more than reasonable to call any team with 0 wins average. In fact, that would be being kind.

Shut up Marbles.

Great win by the C Grade today over ROCS. No bench for most of the game after qtr time due to some serious injuries including a broken arm by one player. The 18 players on the filed toughed it out and showed great character against a finals team and held them out of a 3rd place finish and pushed them into an away Elimination Final next week against Henley.

Could not be prouder of the Boys when they were challenged in the last qtr as they were dead on their feet with no interchanges.

Going to have quite night at home tonight after having to pull on the Runners Shirt as we didn't have one today.
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

I'd say if you're willing to stump up the money for the home final, the SAAFL may look at it as it gives them extra income. It looks like Goodwood's 1 reserves may be a beneficiary of their div 1 finish however.

C grade finals do not incur a fee to host. It was abolished at the end of last season.

The League is very tight these day on players moving to lower grades for finals. Rules are pretty Black & White these days (No Pun intended)

Out of curiosity, how does the league do it with Clubs' that have teams falling out of their arse (i.e PAOC and Uni) where they may be internally graded differently to how the League sees it.

In other words, if a bloke is eligible for C2, is he also eligible for 7R/8R? Vice-versa?

I have no particular issue with it, but it's a hard one for everyone involved. Presumably at the start of the year the club's submit to the league their nominal gradings (i.e understand PAOC's is 2>2R>8>C2>8R)
