Well the clubrooms are mickey mouse, they did really well there.

Too bad some scumbag decided to do donuts on it that night

I reckon Camden oval might improve in the rankings when we finally get to play there.

Rolton is like carpet and probably the best deck in the state behind AO. Trinity is sensational as Zed mentioned too.

Salisbury, St.Marys, Kilburn, Campbelltown all pretty hard to seperate. The lighting and facilities at Kenilworth now including the new change rooms are going to make it one of the best venues in the State. Come finals time it’s an exceptional ground which holds a truckload of cars and gives a very good atmosphere.

Smithfield Oval is looking like carpet at the moment, I've only ever seen it muddy about 15 years ago when it was a thriving metropolis for juniors, even then it was only a bit between CHF and FF caused by everyone opting to train up the road end.

St. Marys always felt weird under foot for me, shell grit for memory? It's been a while.

Salisbury used to struggle in the winter months and a boot got sucked off of my foot at Campbelltown while I was running in 15cm sludge, we won a prelim there with a healthy 1.7(13)

They're picturesque on a dry day.

As for Kilburn, I've played there once for a 1 premiership. I like that place.

I'm trying to think of ovals where a tree impedes the playing arena, didn't Burnside/Kensington have one and perhaps Pembroke?

We used to have to play against the Elizabeth West re-entry school and they had a tree inside the the oval.

Do many grounds still turn into mud pits mid winter? Used to seem to be every second ground would be a bog back in the day, but I cant recall the last really muddy game I've been involved in. :-?

Smithfield was a shocker...

How Salisbury (I'm biased) didn't make this bracket but Largs North did with it's lack of coverage for spectators, no protection from the wind off the ocean and changerooms with no lighting is beyond me. ;)

Councils manage the grounds much better now than even 5 years ago. Gone are the days of councils just watering and cutting the oval.

Wow, they need to get out more.

Long Plains Oval is immaculate.

North Haven: Great for the home side, huge advantage knowing the breeze........................lacks lighting in the visitors
Daly Oval: Yeah right.
Goodwood: Really? The surrounds have character but the oval isn't any real chop.
Mitchell Park: meh!
Walkerville: Clubhouse looks impressive from the outer, fits 6 small cars, oval turns to shit and an eyesore from clubhouse side, need to catch a bus to get to the ground after you've parked your car.
Uni: Great surface but really needs something on the outer side to make it feel a bit closed in.
Payneham: Gets muddy but there's always atmosphere there, clubhouse is in a great spot and wherever you sit you feel close to the action.
Glandore: Has a weird feel to it given the direction, great surface though.
