Would have thought not-for-profit organisations would be exempt, but seems APRA are doing a sweeping target of sports clubs to raise revenue.

We do, or at least we used to, presume it still happens.

Spoke with APRA recently on playing Music along with Sponsor and Club promos, at Half Time of Home Games - a flat yearly fee of $67 was indicated, because Amateur Clubs don't charge spectators/patrons to enter the grounds. IMO Royalties to Artists, is a fair thing and $67 seemed reasonable as a yearly fee.

I'm sure Elton John would be stoked collecting his $67 from the Kenilworth Football Club.

I know, it was the first name that came to my head, I have plenty of time for Kenilworth, the old fella Gilmour is one of my favourite blokes I've played against in the ammo's and their bbq's used to rank #1.
I think I might be wrong with my earlier prediction now with Leon playing out there, it's a huge coup for the club and I wish them all the best for the remainder of the season.

How bizarre - just got an email at work to say the same thing! We're no longer allowed to have the radio on in the workplace.

Clearly they're hot on it!

I know right? I just said to someone, it's like having your radio up too loud and the car next to you at the lights hearing it - how far does it stretch? It's ridiculous!

We have been paying the PPCA fee for as long as I remember, which was <$100 per year. They are now wanting to slug us the APRA fee as well which is in the $1000s. Anyone else come across this?

They will be merging next year so they aren't separate fees but wont be any cheaper...
