Was it even a club event at all?

Or just a quick hour after training the boys sat around after training for few bevvies and that was it?

They all just looked on sporting pulse, only the winner showed up

A deserving winner, nonethless, although I'd have thought Matt Whelan and Cody Gill would've polled higher.

Cody Gill must've improved considerably over the past couple years

I've only seen Gilly play this season, but he's had a ripper.

A lot of clubs do a count separate to presentation - Thursday night is training night, perfect reason to make the lads stick around for a few drinks and a meal

Some clubs just do a count separate to the presentation night, rather than have it all on the same night.. Ive had both and prefer the count to be held on presentation night, but each to there own..

Wouldn't having the count and presentation on separate nights generate more revenue? Having 2 events as compared to 1? Or are you at a club that people wont go to presentation night because you already know who won the goal kicking trophy etc so why bother?

From what I've seen (albeit a limited amount), you're pretty good at creating space and opportunities off the half-back line.

I've seen the count done on a Thursday night and then the presentation a few weeks later, it worked well.

It worked pretty good last night. We did the Bgrade 1st then read out the side for the Agrade to play Saturday and then the Agrade B&F votes.

I gotta say I do find it a touch odd that clubs have done their B and F.

I thought an end of year Gala Night celebrating the winners of all trophies, awards, recognising life members and incorporating sponsors, volunteers and key club personell would have been the norm. We have an end of year event with "responsible" 4 hour drinks package and it is normally a cracking night not to be missed.

We have even done it in our club but ended up having to put MBK and a very angry little man on a pool table as we ran out of room and they were late. The club made a packet that night as you can also throw in your obligatory silent auction, door prizes, raffles and games.

I thin you'll find the clubs will still do that sort of night, just the actual count is done previous so those sort of nights don't drag on too much. I think it works both ways tbh
