Organisation of SAAFL Finals at Prospect / Alberton

Anybody got any comments as to what they thought of the SAAFL organisation of finals at these 2 grounds.

I was at Prospect, and it was dreadful...

Huge lineups to get in. Lots of people missed the first 15-20 minutes of both A and B grade games.
Lack of food and drink outlets.
No use of PA systems for ground announcements and presentation of premiership medals and cups.
No stretcher provided until the canteen lady was asked if she could find one.
Clubs providing their own scoreboard attendants. This wasn't advised to Clubs during the week.
Match day officials having to escort umpires.
People bringing grog into the ground (one bloke carried a carton on his shoulder through the gate). This only bothers me because it is a hot topic for the league and clubs get crucified if they don't do anything about it.

Surely, with all the money taken at the gate (conservatively estimate $15,000 at Prospect) they could have employed a few people to do the scoreboard, extra people on the gate, a ground announcer with roaming microphone (cup presentation and advising spectators to keep grog off the ground) and hired a few security guards for umpires and policing alcohol at the gates.

Anybody else got any thoughts?

Youre right, it was shocking.

Apparantly Prospect only caterered for 750 people and had about 3000 rock up, and with the weather being as hot as it was, ran out of food and drinks by quarter time, then they opened up the club inside with 2 people running the bar and ran out of keg beer too.

Very disappointing effort from a league club me thinks....

Yep, I remember going to grab a Jim Beam & Cola can at half-time of the B grade and they were gone. 1/4 of the way through the day's play.

While we're on the subject, full credit to the Athelstone Footy Club for the way they hosted their finals. I was only there on prelim final day but the use of the PA system and the music being played at half-time and between games was first-class for Amateur Footy. And they didn't run out of food and drink from their two little caravans, which was nice.

Same thing happened at Alberton a couple of weeks ago. Spent a long time in the queue to get in, one ticket lady only. She looked rather harrassed. They weren't expecting the turnout they got either.

Ultimate happened in the Div 1 Grand Final

Goodwood finally left the ground after their victory only to discover that they had been locked out of their rooms

Great sight of seeing Trent Mills and the lads sitting in the car park with their medallions and the trophy
