I have heard Matt Stent heading back to Golden Grove and Flinders Park chasing Andrew Ainger.

Bit of a cheap shot Heater31. I'd love to know your reasoning and understanding of his situation behind that comment

Don't worry people, you will hear more from me than our President. My pseudonym was based upon the traditional SFL clubs always referring to the Northern intruders as the "down the hill" clubs but I may as well stick with it after 8 or 9 years on SA Footy. Marion are the last down the hill club left in the SFL and the word on the street is that 2017 may be their last season in the SFL.

Really looking forward to re-entering the SAAFL and we won't be taking anything for granted. I've followed the Ammo's close enough over the years to know there are some bloody good teams and players running around Div 3 each year. Plus I'm sure the game style differs a bit from the SFL. We've played heaps of trial games against SAAFL clubs and the average age is probably greater than the stronger SFL clubs which generally means bigger bodies and wiser heads.

It's great that we get to play with a balanced fixture for the first time in many years. Playing everyone twice home and away is fixture utopia and we got dealt a good hand with the other 9 clubs in Div 3. Only the trip to Golden Grove is when we will need our passports, otherwise it's just a few trips down Tapleys Hill Rd and the rest are fairly local. Clubs should enjoy coming to Brighton Oval. Not a very long ground but fairly wide and maintains its width right down to the pockets. Turf wicket can mean she gets a bit heavy around the midfield after significant rain but improved drainage in recent years has allowed the ground to hold up fairly well despite the traffic it gets with all our junior teams.

I'm reasonably familiar with all the Div 3 grounds and I'm sure our guys will appreciate playing on grounds that are far more consistent in size and shape than the SFL grounds. Just not sure what councils were thinking when Seaton and Plympton were first established. Footy ovals, cricket pitches and tennis courts mostly run North-South for a reason!!!
