CLG defeated Kenilworth by 8 goals

Kenilworths B grade were very strong though. Looks like they'll have some good depth this year.

There were some good signs there. The A grade side will be far different rd 1 as we had A LOT out on Saturday and this will hopefully make the 2’s stronger.

yeah you guys seemed to have a pretty strong spine in the two's so if you've still got a few to come back in to both grades I can see you guys making a real push into finals this year.

Let's hope so. It was mentioned above that 7 genuine A graders were missing and they are pretty handy footballers. Probably anywhere between 12-15 players who would be playing A's or B's round 1 but you always have injuries and un availabilities as we all know too well. CLG no doubt had players missing and I noticed a few blokes in the magoos who had played C's in years gone by. Your A grade will play finals I am confident in saying in div 4- I thought we handled ourselves ok from what I saw in the 1's when weighing up all factors.

Only if we play finals, otherwise it will be as long as it takes to play 18 games!

Was a competitive hit out yesterday with Rosies. Would like to thank Trevor and Mahns for the game. Was close all day with Rosewater coming out on top by a couple at the end of the day. Trials don’t mean much when a lot of regular players are missing from both sides. Was good to get some match fitness though.

It was definitely a trial game in terms of skill level but I think both sides had a few instances of end to end footy without the ball hitting the deck. The oval was in amazing nick as well, best I've seen it just about.

Absolute pleasure having you blokes around on Sunday. Love playing off for the Scabbs cup. Nice to have the lads and you in for a beer and feed after the game. Houghton did the same although one club just disappeared.

Yes was going to post yesterday about this, have to take my hat off to the Rosewater people for the way they looked after us on Saturday. Brought some food over for us after that game and had a good chat to a couple of people doing some hard work at the club.

Think we would have had 20 odd stay for a drink after the game and lovely hospitality shown towards the us and we wish them all the best this season.

Well done.

It's one of those ovals where I've seen a team have the breeze for 3 quarters, happens at Smithfield too on a certain type of day.
