Both sides would need to recruit to be anything more than that and with my limited knowledge form the opinion that Marion would be in a better spot to do that, I base this purely on the facilities they have at their disposal, definitely the best facilities I have seen at the lower level.

My first year of div 7 footy and I seriously think any of the top 5 sides could have won it on their day (heck even the 6th side could have haha).. it was probably the most even division I have played in throughout my career besides flinders and mitchell park (and MP became pretty competitive on the back 9, so really just mainly flinders).

I’m looking forward to next season already, with the crop of young players and the experienced they gained this season at the units I think we are in a pretty good spot!

Who's coaching?

Can we say that karma cost Lonsdale? For resting all their players and throwing the last game of the year to St Paul's meaning heaps of players played the 1 game for 3 weeks leading up to the grand final! We're they so cocky they had it won? I'm not saying Marions pressure and support behind the goals wasn't a huge reason they win but surely you wanna have your players playing football leading into the grand final.

Wouldn't think so, they're long seasons and player management is critical - i'm sure OSB felt it was best to rest those players, allow the extra week recovery to get over any niggles to be better placed for their first final and ultimately the Grand Final.

Had they played Rd 18 and injured key personnel and then lost their semi final, they may well have run the risk of not reaching the GF at all.

By the time Round 18 rolls around, you're not going to make any significant gains/loses on fitness or skills, so if a few older blokes are sore then it would be more beneficial to allow them an opportunity to fully recover if opportunity presents I would think.

Grand Final or not Richmond play this week after having played one game in the last 27-28 days what ever it is.

Perhaps I should've typed in moron for you to understand.

One extra game over 4 or 5 weeks is not the reason. Lonsdale were just beaten by a better team on the day. Marion's midfield dominated the stoppages and their pace couldn't be matched. Karma / spiritual influence / imaginary friends had nothing to do with it.

I few old heads in the side and he's just another one.

He is a great servant of the Golden Grove Footy Club as he has been at a few others. Having played all for grades for the cub the enjoyment he gets out oif playing with a lot of the younger lads is great to see!

McCallum from Marion stiff to miss? Nat McDonnell could've had claims considering his return in a struggling side.
Jason Dikkenberg - obviously couple of exceptional rucks in Charlton & Schutz, but must've been close.

Interesting make up:

OSB - 17 wins, 3 players
St Pauls - 14 wins, 3 players
Marion - 13 wins, 4 players
Tea Tree Gully - 11 wins, 3 players
Mawson Lakes - 11 wins, 2 players
Central United - 10 wins, 1 player
Houghton - 7 wins, 3 players
Golden Grove - 4 wins, 1 player
Mitchell Park - 2 wins, 1 player
Flinders Uni - 0 wins, 0 players
