Also say a club that has only 18’s and another div 1 club merges but becomes a Sawfl club can they start in Div 1 or do they have to start from a lower div.

Looking at how the comp has progressed over the past few years, unless you have a significant amount of SANFLW standard players, new clubs will struggle initially at Div 1 level. The top 5 are very competitive, with Port Adelaide struggling at the moment We have a number of SANFLW players playing B-Grade or U/18s and the competition seems a better overall standard that the summer competition run by the SANFL.

Fitzroy are just a rebranded West Adelaide, so not a new club. PNU are probably an indication that even Div 2 is now a step beyond where new starters should be aiming.

$10 Entry for an U18 Girls Grand Final. Considering the elite level is free to go and watch, this seems a little steep..

Given that the league subsides the $4k cost to run the 18s (boys and girls), they could easily let the GF spectators in for free and charge us the extra $2k per team instead.

I know which I'd rather.

Using that logic, all the other GF's from Div 1 to C6 should be free then..

yep and using your logic the $100k that gets retained through GF entry fee that disappears will also get added to the Div1-C6 sides call fees, but hey as long as you don't have to pay your $10 to go to a Grand Final

just over $1.2m so on your theory that would be eroded inside 12 years, very sound fiscal management
why we are at it lets not charge the clubs any call fees for a couple of year so we can really piss the money up against the wall

With a heavy heart the Adelaide Football League and SANFL women's comp lost a true champion tonight following an incident from the div 2 women's Grand Final.
Unfortunately Maggie Varcoe has passed away after a head clash with a team mate from Sunday's game, my thoughts are with her family, friends, the AVFC, the AdFL and the whole football community.
A tragic situation which has absolutely shattered me personally.
Maggie was a courageous and skillful player well respected amongst her peers and opponents.

Vale Maggie Varcoe.
