It’s always the case where some ‘junior money’ is funnelled into senior football, really that’s why football clubs exist. There are big costs in running a football club that people don’t realise and that is not including player payments.

What's the bet some bright spark in the Community Football League will eventually come up with a "Financial Fair Play" model like in English Soccer or something? Clubs could only spend total player payments that are a % of funds raised from certain sources (ie Sponsorship, fundraising, etc), just to make like difficult/more complicated for volunteer administrators in order to further protect the SANFL competition from those evil country and amateur clubs.

Doesn't happen at Ingle Farm - Junior and Senior footy are run completely separate and no money is funnelled into senior footy.

Whatever money IFJFC have they pumped back into junior footy - that's why our fees remain so low for kids and they get so much value for dollars.. and why senior footy struggles.

One club my lad played for the fees were $150 and $5 per week, this was in an age group where there were no points, the older kids paid the same.

There was no "end of season" get together for the team, the presentation was a sausage and a kirks can each with a participation trophy probably valued at $5 buying in bulk, the older grades had a full array of trophies.

I knew how much the affiliation fees were per team, I knew how much the umpire fees were and it didn't add up very well for the younger ones.

Last year we were asked to all put in $30 to buy the coach a gift, there was 25 kids, I asked if the coach was going to send us postcards from Hawaii.

I am talking in terms of Oval payments, insurance, electricity, building costs etc

Most people would think that the seniors pay and the juniors can just use it.

Our senior footy covers their costs through the fees structure and sponsorship, and any shortfall is picked up by the sportingclub.
Plus things like oval costs - juniors tend to have 3 or 4 teams train/play on any given night.. if you were paying an hourly rate and split that amongst the teams and then again amongst players the cost would be very minimal anyway.

You split costs between juniors and seniors? Have different committee's?

All this proves my point.

There really is no point to prove, apples and oranges, what may work for some might not for others.

Most metro clubs are sports and social clubs whereas the country leagues are football clubs.

Now they have moved the no scoring module up to and including U11's for the upcoming season so presume they are going with what was said a couple of seasons ago that they would eventually take it up to and include U13's

Personally i think it is crap, few people on the wireless this morning not happy about it either

Any kid at any age will always ask and want to know if they won or lost... Winning and losing and how you handle them are great life lessons to learn. Taking that away doesn't benefit them, i believe its vital learning tool which is getting taken away from them...

thats just ridiculous, clubs struggle to get enough volunteers now but teams of 12 means more sides in some of the stronger clubs
