While I see this is great that kids are playing our great game there is plenty off room at established clubs.
My club busts its guts every year to attract more Juniors, currently we have for example 15 U/9 kids but another club close by has 56 .....
Now I know the old argument kids want to play with mates
Parents want there kids to play at a successful club
But if your going to get on the radio and big note, remember SANFL juniors there are club that would love to have Junior's in all grades moving through to seniors .... just my thoughts because there are local clubs sometimes not being used .

Or the scenario of a neighboring club to ours texting our President: "We have only 10 players in our SECOND under X team, and we know you have 12 or so in the same grade, but your only team. Why dont you send us those kids, so we can have 2 teams"!!!

I hope the Angle Vale game isnt a Friday night fixture :?

The SANFL is doing a damn fine job if you ask a parent/coach/volunteer such as myself who has been involved in junior footy for the past 20 years.

The grades are evenly matched, and even more so as they take a step further this season with the amalgamation of north and south, the umpiring is of a good standard, the permits have been harder to get this season as opposed to previous years.

There's a lot to like, if we have to travel, we will, and make a day of it.

I'm the conduit between the SANFL and my committee and I find the SANFL confusing at best.

I won't go into detail but some of what they are implementing I fully support - but transition it in! You can see they are being told what to do by the AFL because it's all reactionary.

We still don't have rules and regs!

The bit that annoys me is that they are full time and I think we (club volunteers) do a better job at administration than they do.

At a CDFC development meeting last week all the players and parents were told that there will be no Friday night SANFL junior matches for these grades until the development games are finished, it appears as though round 1 we travel to CLG for a Friday night game (no clash) but then we play Pooraka a few weeks in on a Friday night, we have 13 players out at development, 5-8 will make the final cut for sure.

Last season we lost to the bottom side on a Friday night as none of our best half a dozen were allowed to play, despite being to the ground on time after their development game.

That’ll be fun, we don’t have lights good enough for night games

Not many do, but not many admit it, they're generally fine for the real young ones who can set an oval up directly under a tower.

Clubs got a draft one this week, I'm not sure if the younger ones got one too, they were apparently for the delegates to peruse over and make recommendations or changes.

At a guess from what I heard, it seemed very rough as we had a few Friday night games, some as early as 10:30 and late as 3pm on Sundays, no real set pattern.

Getting a bit antsy with this fixture, was meant to be out on the 26th, apparently definitely out today.
