No worries.
I watch GG as i have family playing there.

It is interesting how we make assumptions though isn't it.

GG v Portland - GG up by 4 goals 8 mins to go - draw.
GG v Flinders Park - FP up by 7 goals 18 min mark of the 3rd 1/4, GG draw level with 4 mins to go but lose.
GG v Glenunga - Will wipe this game from my memory as Glenunga were gifted many goals by a rabble of officiators. Drew within 6 points half way through the final 1/4. Lost.
GG v Westminster - GG have a shot from 35m out after the siren to win the game but miss.
GG v Iggies - Iggies to good on the day.

Rest of their games they have won but i still don't see them as a threat come finals time.

All good, I thought GG were really good on saturday, can see them making a charge up the ladder on the back 9, very even competition this year, all of the top 6 capable of beating one another, finishing top 3 will be huge

Yeah had a quick chat with the GG coach post game, filled me in how many close ones they have lost, a very competitive team with great depth. Top 3 should start taking shape in the next few weeks

FP missed their first 4 shots into the 3rd quarter, could have turned out differently if converted.

Glenungas oval on the weekend was quite bad, very slippery and heavy under foot in some areas. More rain and that will turn into a quagmire I would think.
Flinders turns to mud
Portland holds up pretty well apart for one spot on the wing and the cricket pitch can be a bit muddy sometimes
havens wouldnt get muddy as very sandy
Westminster, the cricket pitch was very muddy the other week and quite alot of surface water around the oval.
Gepps oval holds up pretty well from memory.

Glenunga's has been thew worst I've ever played on.
I remember Port Reserve being churned up many moons ago, although I played full back that day so didn't get too far abroad and it absolutely pissed down all day and probably all week leading up to it.
I've never seen North Haven's boggy.
Flinders' had ducks dwelling on it a few years ago.

considering we havent had that much rain. I was surprised how poor the oval was on the weekend at Glenunga

Flinders Park working hard to improve the oval so they don't have another scenario like 2016. The drainage was re-done in the offseason a couple of years ago. Lights are going up on the warm up oval so the juniors can train on there during the season to take the traffic of the main oval. Flinders Park have something happening on the oval every night during winter so once the rain arrives the oval has no chance of staying in good shape. In saying that the oval is in pretty good nick this time of year as you'll see on Saturday Fisty.

Hopefully there's grass on it when we go there in round 17 MH!
Our oval is in great nick but it's usually around now when morning frost starts to dry out and kill the grass.
Is Old Iggies oval in as pristine condition as I'm assuming it to be? Looking forward to playing on it Saturday

Old Iggies only play games on there, there four teams train out the back on the Park 25 ovals so Karen Rolton Oval is in absolute mint condition. Furthermore, I don't think there has been too much foot traffic on it (a handful of state underage rep trainings/games) and the lads only played 4 games in the first half of the season there.

This Div continues to throw up curve balls.
If you want a finals berth then it is all on line each and every week now.
Great job NH to KO Iggies on their home deck.
FP belting Portland, what happened there ?

Iggies are stumbling.
Top three finish critical in this comp, final five looks settled although that draw can always come into play.
GG play all four teams currently above them out of the last five games.
Hopefully it's a nice fine day on Saturday for the return bout between GG and Glenunga, should be a cracker.
Frustratingly shocking umpire free day would be nice, it's been refreshingly good lately but then again more than often the no name umpires are the best.

Good luck to all in the lead up to finals, hopefully injury free.

Astonishing first 1/4 at Harpers field.
Glenunga 8.5 to GG 0.1.
GG failed to use the breeze at all in the second 1/4.
16.8 to 4.5 at 3/4 time.
GG drew within 15 pts with 5 mins to go.
A settling goal to Glenunga saw them safe and sound.
Not often a 9.7 to 1.1 last 1/4 doesn't see you get the chockies.
Glenunga are an extremely good side but GEE they know it.
Would rather see Port win a flag than this mob.

So what are the experts saying about this comp - 5 rounds out from the big stuff who is capable of going the distance? Seems some sides experiencing some rough waters at the moment but as the weather warms up its amazing how injuries can quickly heal.
