Ladder after Rd 7
14 - Kenilworth
12 - Hope Valley
10 - Pulteney
08 - Lockleys
08 - Eastern Park

---------------------------
06 - Salisbury
06 - Smithfield
02 - Trinity OS
02 - Rosewater
02 - Blackfriars OS

Round 8
Eastern Park vs Trinity OS
Rosewater vs Salisbury
Lockleys vs Kenilworth
Pulteney vs Hope Valley
Blackfriars OS vs Smithfield

Massive wins for Pulteney and Eastern Park on Saturday has the ladder looking well and truly alive. The Parkers now entrenched in the 5 and only percentage behind Lockleys who were pantsed badly. Should consolidate their spot vs TOS this week.

Pulteney worked their way back after a fast starting Smithfield piled on 4 quick first quarter goals - weather suprisingly probably worked against Smithfield in this, the wet weather seemed to curb a bit of their momentum and run early, which allowed the Blues to choke them a bit.. after the half the weather was drier and it was game on. Game was certainly closer than the final 22 point margin, and sat around the 10pt margin for most the second half. Had the Blues lost, Smithfield would've been on 8 points along with Pulteney, Eastern Pk and Lockleys in that tight battle for the 5.

Salisbury's win over the Blues last week is proving more valuable than first realised, they're genuinely in a position to launch an assault.

Kenilworth & Hope Valley still in a league of their own.

Lockleys appear the most vulnerable to miss the 5 at this stage - remembering that one of their 4 wins came from an administrative error from the Panthers in Rd 1 as well.

Huge weekend of games coming up, and i'm sure each side is desperately looking forward to the mid season break.. it's come around quick but not quick enough!

Hope Valley v Pulteney this week will be a fair match up. Can’t pick it until the teams come out Thursday. Match of the year so far I’d suspect.

Yes, the C5 match should be an absolute belter in the GF re-match.

Reserves Ladder after Rd 7
12 - Kenilworth
12 - Salisbury
12 - Hope Valley
10 - Pulteney
09 - Lockleys

---------------------------
06 - Blackfriars OS
05 - Smithfield
02 - Trinity OS
02 - Rosewater
00 - Eastern Park

Round 8
Eastern Park vs Trinity OS
Rosewater vs Salisbury
Lockleys vs Kenilworth
Pulteney vs Hope Valley
Blackfriars OS vs Smithfield

Top 3 is certainly locked away. Salisbury look dangerous but lost to Kenilworth.. who in turn were beaten by Hope Valley.. who lost to Salisbury.

Would expect those three sides will only drop games to each other. Whilst there is a bit of breathing space below, the make up of the 5 isnt secure yet. Lockleys are always strong in the reserves, and their two losses have come by 2 and 5 points respectively as well as a draw to Smithfield - they could well be sitting undefeated and with a percentage of 68.39% they're a genuine threat.. at home this week, wouldn't rule out knocking off the 'Burras.

Blackfriars OS are within striking range, but until they can claim a big scalp it's hard to see them making a real play. Massive game this weekend against Smithfield who look the most likely to pounce and work their way up the ladder.

The Panthers were good Saturday, probably unfortunate not to get the points, but with half a dozen missing from the 1's set to return, the quality will filter back down and they'll be a tough unit on the back 9.

Hard to see any of the bottom 3 sides having too much impact on the finals make up - but you just never know, and underdogs always find a way to claim an unlikely win over the season, especially once sides become complacent.

Wasn't intentional haha! Was just thinking about the sides on the ladder around us.

Think Pulteney are in a tight battle for the 5 despite sitting on 5 wins. One victory was against Lockleys by 2pts, another was recovering from a deficit against Blackfriars & Smithfield.. beat weakened Eastern Park and Rosewater outfits which bolstered the percentage but masked deficiencies.

Comfortably beaten by Kenilworth & Salisbury, have a tough period coming up with Hope Valley and Trinity (away).. beating Smithfield on the weekend was super critical.

If Smithfield and Lockleys can reverse some of their first half results, it'll make it very tough.. but i'm still confident we can do enough to scrape into the 5.. a lot relies on how healthy the top side can remain of course (as is the case with most clubs).

Hope to turn the halfway at 6-3 and finish 10-8, 20pts, should be enough.
