Confident they are staying put. Probably needs a little more than text message to get them over..

Starting pre-season now is absolute ludicrous.

Can only end in tears.

Out - Brooks, Wright, Barclay, Nelson, Corbett
In - Perna-Hague, Rogers, Freeman, Hrynkiw**, Upton**, Collins, McIntyre, Burchall, O'Neil, Roberts

The Tigers struggled last year following an exodus of players the end of season before, but new coach Dene Steele has wasted little time extending the olive branch to his contacts to come to Tigerland.

The 'outs' of Brooks and Wright are significant, not so much the other three, however the 'ins' are equally as unimpressive, with McIntyre, Upton & O'Neil probably the best of the lot. Freeman played in the B grade the other year, if he plays A grade and is fit he could cause some headaches up forward, whilst Burchall adds a bit of backline depth, returning after a season at Houghton. Hrynkiw is no good.

They have a lot of work to do to close the gap on last year, but good start - should be aiming for midpack, a lot will depend on whether McKee plays and if he does how much.

(**) - denotes initial clearance denied

Hectorville
Out - Jonas
In - Leonard**, Nelson, Richards, Grace, Katonin

Relegated from D5 after a difficult year, it's been pretty quite on the Hounds front this off season in terms of player movement. Lot of youth amongst their squad, along with some genuine match winners most notably Mazzone, they'll catch plenty of sides off guard with their leg speed and ball movement this season.

Their U18's won the flag this season also, so that's always a positive. Depth could be an issue though - didn't finish the season in the C grade, and B grade copped some hidings.

Will need to keep their best 25-30 fit for most of the year to be a real threat, but for me they're the dark horse, and finals should be the minimum goal.

Ingle Farm
Out - Spence
In - White, Buck, Knowles, Milera, Brereton

Relegated along with Hectorville, the Farmers find themselves quickly back in the division they struggled to escape for so long after just one season in the higher division. The wheels fell off in a bad way in 2018, but to their credit they got through, and have appeared to have retained a majority of their players.

Spence is a big out, and they lose a bit of run and drive, but Luke Smith recommitting along with Buck returning will help cover part of that. Milera and Knowles bolsters the brother boy stocks and add some depth, but i'd be surprised if Trae played much.

New coach, new energy, good pre-season numbers and an air of expectation around the place, i'll be interested to see how they go.

Unfortunately the pessimist in me has them outside the 5 - hope i'm wrong.

Elizabeth
Out - Upton**
In - Hearn, Doudle, Srey, Goodrich, Superina

The Eagles were easily the second best outfit in 2017 but fell over when it mattered most, and then last year struggled to replicate the same level of form, thanks largely to inconsistencies with their lineup as injuries struck.

Upton is a big out if he goes, and so far haven't added to their top tier, but the depth and quality is there should they manage to get it all on the park this season.

A long way to go until Rd 1, but at the moment it's hard to see them making up the difference on this season, and I think finals may be a bridge too far at the moment.

Fitzroy
Out - nil
In - Bourke*, Matters, Wohlfart

The only significant potential movement so far is the inclusion of Bourke, who adds more goal kicking prowess and an ability to run through the midfield.

Appear to have retained their players, although the rumours are circulating of some heading to Blackfriars, so that could be interesting. Some very dangerous players in their A grade - but a lot of guys reaching the end of their playing days, and a lack of youth and leg speed may prove costly.

Finals is a bare minimum, need to start the season fast.

Daniel Coombe is an interesting in, hasn't played much senior footy over the past couple of years and is still very young, he was an absolute superstar as a kid.
