I would be flabbergasted if the SANFL and the SACFL didn't force every club that has SANFL players on it's list this year, to open it's books and it's finances from top to botttom, judging by the numbers of SANFL players that have come into the Adelaide Footy league.

I remember when they looked into a club that I had a few mates playing at. They were instructed by their club to ignore the phone calls from the SACFL. After a while the calls stopped. This was maybe 6 years ago.

Pretty hard to catch anyone unless someone talks from the inside.

Agree .... as long as they can count to 15 and cover the costs within their means, does it really matter?

That's the problem, it's all good until someone gets pissed off, it didn't go down too well at Kybybolite.

I’ve posted this somewhere before, but after having the salary cap for 7-8 years now, is there any level where it’s tangibly improved community football?

Jo172, yeah……nah. All it’s done is undervalued players who should be getting more and overvalued those with reputations chasing the $$$$.

Unfortunately the players who are loyal and stick at the clubs they love are normally the undervalued ones. Just my opinion on what I’ve seen in the last 5 or 6 years.

That's a bit of my instinct, along with adding a significant and complicated regulatory and paperwork burden to already overworked volunteers.

You Probably don't even need the player themselves anymore to say anything. The league has access to all the contracts usually in their system, and if there is large discrepancies between what they were getting and what they are apparently getting at their new club, you don';t have to be a rocket scientist to work it out- especially if the club(s) were already paying a large sum, then a contingent of SANFL guys come on board on top of that.

Gee Broadies have recruited well, they will be serious team in Div 2 this year.

Liddle
Barnes
Gotch
Gordon
Baker
Trevorrow
Oborn

Add Yeomans
Ryan
O’Leary

That’s some serious players to match with SHOC’s superstars.
