How bad are Uni? Henley were missing about 12 A grade players from round 1 and I dont think Henley will play finals.

Cracking Day yesterday Locky. Great Luncheon & Connor was fantastic to listen to.
Made Butch & Maxine's day to have their photo with Connor.

A Grade Women's & Men's coaches Luke Robertson & Matty Burgess both spoke really well about the season so far.

Good crowd at the luncheon, almost 70 people there.

Good wins by both the Men's A & B's. Both played cracking footy at times and setting themselves up for a good run into the finals.

C grade got the win via forfeit but would have loved to have played to get another game under their belts.
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

They've had the official opening (just in case James Stevens didn't get back in!!), but not actually up and running just yet. Looks great, though.

I was amazed by some of the yellow cards given today at the Gaza v Athelstone game.
All 4 for “dangerous tackles”. 3 of them even has the players (of both sides) laughing amongst themselves at how ridiculous it was.
Supporters of both sides joining in to voice their displeasure.
2 of them even had the “slung” player trying to convince the umpires the tackles weren’t that bad.

I’m all for removing the dangerous tackle. But the interpretation by the umps was just embarrassing.

As the game was videoed it might be worth reviewing the footage.

The roughest one was the first one. But in looking how the player lands, and the fact that there is no injury or no potential injury, it’s hard to see why it’s a free kick (let alone a yellow card).
The other 3 were disgraceful decisions.
The camera doesn’t do the last one justice, but this was the one that had players and spectators of both sides laughing.

1st and 4th yes.
2nd and 3rd no.

Whilst the 4th might appear "softest of all" the fact remains you cant grab a bloke and swing him around and to the ground.

80.18 minute mark ......definite yes 100 %

87.11.......possible = was paid as a high tackle
95.10.......possible 100%

The roughest one was the first one. But in looking how the player lands, and the fact that there is no injury or no potential injury, it’s hard to see why it’s a free kick (let alone a yellow card).
The other 3 were disgraceful decisions. Ah no - all 100% correct. The league instructs the umpires to penalise the action of slinging - not the consequences -
The camera doesn’t do the last one justice, but this was the one that had players and spectators of both sides laughing.
Doesn't matter if the player is injured or not - there is the potential for injury by this type of tackle / sling - so definite yellow

I was at a Div5 game Saturday and there was few sling/dangerous tackles paid, but no yellows that I saw. Is there meant to be yellows as well as a free kick?

I think it is Umpires call on what they think is yellow or not.
